Radley had a rough start to his flag football season with a broker finger. He had to play every game with a big brace on his hand. It made it difficult to catch, throw, and grab flags. He did amazing considering his situation. He played hard and aggressive (with a little too much emotion at times), but he tried his hardest no matter what. He played against a super competitive team that was coached by some varsity football players and with the refs being JV players, it made some of the calls a little unfair. Overall, I think he was glad he played, but as always, it was a learning opportunity.

Cheer Camp & Other School Stuff
The girls of course wanted to do cheer camp this year and had a great time! Mackenzie knew all the cheer and did a great job with the dance as well. Bentley is a great cheerleader! She helped Mackenzie to practice and knew all the words and motions too. She knew the dance really well also.
College readiness day (love those socks, haha) |
Bentley seems to be the only kid that wears BYU shirts, just like Radley. |

Boys Injuries
Within 1 week of Kyler's surgery all 3 of the boys had some pretty serious injuries. Kyler obviously was recovering from surgery. Radley broke a finger. Damon had a major crash on his bike and had some bad road rash along the right side of his body.
We stopped by the pharmacy by the park to pick up all Kyler's medicine right when we pulled into town, and Radley was having flag football practice so Kenney went to help coach. Unfortunately, Radley broke his pinky catching a pass not even one hour after we got back!!! His coach was throwing a pass, and Radley put his hands up in a really awkward position to catch the ball and broke his finger. Kenney took Radley a few days later to Kevin's office to get some x-rays because the finger was still swollen and very tender. Sure enough, Kenney could see a break! Radley was in a brace for 6 weeks while it healed and during his entire flag football season.
Damon came home for lunch one day and I could tell immediately something happened. I walked into the bathroom to find some serious skin abrasions along his leg, hip, and arm. It was really painful to clean and really rough to play football with. We wrapped him up pretty good that day and had to keep wrapping him for football for another 3 weeks. He cleaned us out of bandaids really quick!
See that swollen detached part on the top right side? That's the broken part. |
