The traditional Keys family Thanksgiving did not disappoint this year! It was unusual having Kenney home with us, however. He had to work, but was mostly just on call because there were not any patients in the hospital. It was different (and really nice) without him going hunting! This year the annual Turkey bowl was passed down to the next generation! It was all the little guys and an amazing uncle, Keyan, out there! Our kids weren't the biggest fans of Thanksgiving dinner, except for Bentley. But they all loved the pies! When we brought out the leftovers later that night Radley said, "That food again?" He was less than impressed with dinner and decided to eat toast with the rest of his brothers!! Are you kidding me?? So much effort is put forth for the Thanksgiving meal and my kids would rather eat toast! I'm sure you can imagine how enjoyable our everyday meals are every night!!!
My first solo pie! I know it's a little crispy, but it tasted good!
The always memorable dessert table, complete with 21 pies plus other treats!
Damon ready to pounce on anyone during the Turkey Bowl.
Running to catch a pass
Completion for a 20 yard touchdown! He was so excited!!
Bruce was copying big brother Tyce, and it was just about the cutest thing ever!
Uncle Keyan was awesome and played with all the kids!
"Hi Mom!"
Kyler got touched or hit or something, but ended up like this quite a bit.
Jumping on the broken trampoline, and avoiding the football game. I think he's a little scared of Damon.
Hut, hut!
Damon going down in the orange striped shirt.
He had a few injuries too, but he wanted to play so bad he would only stay out for no more than one snap before getting back into it!
Bruce copying Tyce again. (Shayla you need to copy this picture and zoom in on Bruce's face; it's adorable)
It's all about speed for this kid!
Bentley getting in on the action too!
Kyler was doing a whole lot of this, in between pouting sessions!!
We've got this Wal-Mart Black Friday shopping down! I was shocked because I was able to get the TV on the front page of the ad in less than 15 mins!! I got it before 6 so I was able to help Marilyn get what she needed, and we were all able to get everything we wanted!! In and out in less than 2 hours!!
A quick view of the Turkey Bowl
One night before Thanksgiving one of Kyler friends came over to our house for a little bit. This kid is only 2 months older than Kyler. He is a giant 6 year old!!! My kids didn't stand a chance playing with him!! He was really good with them, except when he socked Radley and gave him a bloody lip on accident!
Our sweet, but sometimes sassy, little girl is 1!!! Such a fun and crazy year for all of us. She is loved even more than the day she arrived, especially by Radley!! Her brothers still just adore her, and she is becoming much more of a daddy's girl. She still likes me, but she really loves it when her daddy comes home. She always has to give him a hug when she sees him and lays her head on his shoulder. None of the boys ever did anything like that. She is learning to scream when she is not getting her way and tries to run away when she has something she shouldn't. She already bugs her brothers. She doesn't talk too much yet, but understands so much. She loves animals of all kinds, being outside, playing with babies, and eating. Much like her brothers she is very aware of her surroundings and will not sit still long enough to fall asleep unless she's in a bed or car seat. She is quite prissy and needs to toughen up, but it's getting better. She loves men and walks up to strangers hoping they'll pick her up. It kinda scares me, but she is perfectly content sitting on a man's lap she doesn't even know (however I know all of them, thankfully). She is the cutest little girl I have ever met, and she melts hearts everywhere she goes!!
Bentley had a great birthday and party. She was a little overwhelmed at first with everyone crowding around her and singing, but she LOVED her cake and especially loved the ice cream (a girl after my own heart!).
Some of the crowd getting a little too close!
Starting to warm up to the cake.
Bentley's own personal cake!
Once she tasted it, there was no going back! She really got into it. Once I gave her the ice cream spoons, she didn't turn back. She wanted more ice cream.
I tried so hard to get a picture of her with just the big #1 balloon (thanks Savanna & Kevin), but she was scared of it and wouldn't get close enough to it. This was the best I could get.
I'm telling you, she likes ice cream!
Bentley opening up her new travel sized baby.
She really didn't know what to think about the singing, but then she got really nervous and started crying. It was really sad!
Once Daddy picked her up she calmed down, she was able to start eating the cake.
She then decided to share the cake with her daddy.
She finally got comfortable enough to eat in the highchair. But here she is eating the ice cream.
I tried to take some 1 year pictures of Bentley, and it proved to be very difficult to do by myself! However, a few turned out pretty cute. We also had a cat that would not leave our house for about a week, and it would not leave us alone in the backyard!
She makes this face several times a day!! It's so funny!
80% of the pictures I try to get of her end up looking like this! She is notorious for blinking!!
This one was cute though!
Thanksgiving lunch at school! I was amazed at how many parents come to this lunch. The cafeteria was packed. Damon was excited we came to eat with him.
He was really happy Bentley was there!
Kyler was not so sure about us being there. He told me before school that he didn't want me to come and that he would sit with his friends or his teacher! What?? I'm already not cool enough for my 6 year old?? When I saw his class walk in, I found him and told him where we were sitting with Damon in case he changed his mind. He assured me that he was going to sit with his friends or teacher. However, he eventually decided that it was worth sitting with us. I think all his friends went to sit with their parents so he did too.
The Buick hit a huge milestone (get it, haha! I have been around Papa Dude way too long)
100,000 MILES!!
She was really mad when I didn't let her eat dirt!
Donut jammies!!
Too cool for school.
This one thinks he's cool too!
These boys did great on their Primary Program. Damon is still pretty unsure about Primary. Most Sundays he doesn't really like it, but he did awesome for the program. Kyler said his parts perfectly and sang (rather quietly). Damon refused to look out in the audience, but he said his parts and sang all the songs! We were really proud of both of them!
Damon's Kindergarten class had a transportation day and each kid needed to bring a box car to school. Damon of course didn't want to have a normal box car, he wanted a motorcycle. Leave it to him to think outside the box. Lucky for him he has a dad that is willing to figure out how to make a cardboard motorcycle. In case you ever need to make one, call Kenney because there is nothing on Pinterest or any where online with instructions on how to make one. I was thoroughly impressed with how it turned out!
Damon at the Transportation Day Parade
He was too nervous to notice that he was barely visible when it was his turn on stage.
Walking in at the pep rally. The picture is a little blurry because I was trying to take pictures while holding two kids. It didn't work out so well!
It was really funny watching him try to walk with his motorcycle, but he wouldn't let it stop him. He really liked it!
Damon was so proud of this bike! Daddy did a great job!
This is him showing how fast he could go on the motorcycle. The sound effects are the best! (and ignore the mess, it gets cleaned up right before bedtime every night)
