We were all so excited when we had some surprise visitors! The boys had no idea that Oma, Papa Dude, and Zadi were coming to visit us. I had the boys in the backyard when they pulled up, or so I thought. Kyler had come inside as I was walking out to the driveway, so he sat with everyone while I went to get the other boys. They were really excited and surprised. We didn't have any plans or anything to do while they were here; we just hung out and had fun. The boys were so excited to be able to show everyone their rooms and toys. It was a lot of fun for them to be able to show off all their stuff and out little town! There were also a few trips to Allsups so Oma could get the boys treats, and a trip to Walmart. Our Internet was out for 3 days, most of which happened to be while they were here, so we had even more quality time than we expected! (I also forgot to take any pictures, so thankfully, Papa Dude had his phone ready!!)
Kyler showing off his monkey bar skills at the school playground.
Damon climbing around.
Radley keeping up with the big boys!
The big slide!
Damon always making it more exciting!
Climbing on top of the monkey bars because we fancy!!
I was told this was quite a long and fast ride that made some little boys a slightly wheezy!!
Radley thinks these are so cool. He loves playing on the balance bars and always does them.
Doesn't she just look cute?!
Papa got some cute pictures of her
Radley showing off his muscles
Those are some BIG muscles.
Bentley getting into the cars.
My favorite picture of the whole visit! I love this of Bentley and Oma!
You can't see Damon's surprised face very well, but he was shocked and slightly confused when he saw everyone sitting on the couch.
Papa Dude got Radley to show his big muscles. The best is when he's asked how big his muscles are and he says, "So BIG!"
The beginning of October was mostly uneventful, which we like! The weather has been slightly cooler and we've spent a lot of time outside. The boys still love being in the front and riding on bikes or scooters. They also make sure Bentley has fun too. We were able to do a surprise party/dinner for Marilyn's 60th birthday. I think she was genuinely surprised since it happened 6 days before her actual birthday. I've done a few other projects too.
Everyone getting or taking a ride. Damon made sure that Bentley was not left out!
Radley has to carry a sword around because you never know when you might get attacked or have to attack someone else. (It's tucked into the back of his shirt)
Surprise party for Nana's 60th birthday!
Trying to see what the big boys are doing outside. I love that she's on her toes!
I'm not sure what happened to my picture, but you get the idea. I painted Damon's dresser blue rather than having to paint all the walls in his room blue. I'm still undecided on drawer pulls that go along with the lizards and frogs. Funny story about the paint: I had painted the dresser on the driveway while Bentley was taking a nap. I left the paint out there, and after dinner I went back outside to make sure I didn't need to a another coat before cleaning everything up. While I was looking at the dresser Bentley found the paint can and dumped it all over herself and the driveway! Oops!! I scooped her up and with Kenney's help got her cleaned off enough to bathe her. Kenney meanwhile had to try and clean off the paint spots off the driveway. I don't think he was very amused! However, I will always be much more diligent about making sure the paint lid is on securely.
Johnny Appleseed Day at school.
Radley is becoming quite the photographer with my phone. I literally get 100s of photos every week. Sometimes (rarely) I am pleasantly surprised at his pictures.
This is Bentley's favorite word. It is usually said with a very whiny and needy voice, but I still love it!
Like normal, the boys love it when we play catch/football in the living room. They were trying to catch a ball at the same time and wanted me to film it. This is my attempt at throwing two balls while filming. Kenney said I better get some credit if these boys end up being good at football because I have spent a lot of time throwing balls to them!
More often than not this is what happens after they catch the balls... I get hit by both of them at the same time because I cannot catch two balls and stop the video at the same time with just two hands! I get hit A LOT!!
Our little baby girl is not much of a baby anymore!! She is walking and talking and loves to play with her baby doll. She is just getting too big. When the boys discovered how much she loved her baby doll, they thought it was fascinating. Kenney was shocked at how much she liked it too. He said, "She's such a girl." Why yes, she is a girl!
This is one of the first set of videos we got of Bentley walking. She is so cautious and thoughtful compared to her brothers!
Her balance is pretty good, and she can stand from anywhere, but she just refused to take steps on her own. She wanted to make sure it was safe!
She may have said Dada first, but she uses Momma much more!! Her deep voice is pretty funny. I wonder if it will always be deep?
She tries to carry her baby everywhere she goes.
We haven't discussed proper baby carrying technique yet!
She's a mess!!
She loves to give her baby kisses too!
It is so fun to watch her play with this baby, probably because I did the same thing when I was little!
Since we live in small town Texas it's hard to avoid Friday night football, but the boys seem to love it! Damon constantly has a football in his hands and loves to play catch, even with himself!
The boys got out of school early one day for the Peanut Festival, and we were able to go to the parade. The boys went off with some friends while Bentley and I hung out in the shade!
It was hot, but considering she didn't get any candy, she did really well during the parade!
Great grand kids with Papa Keys on his 85th birthday!
Radley walked up behind us and stood there for a while with his hands on our shoulders so I thought it would be a cute picture. I was right!!
Ready for some football!! This kid loves watching football and wants to play so bad!! He gets so into the game and loves it when the Rockets score!!
Bentley made some friends at the game too! She had a whole row of little girls doting on her!
It's hard to see, but there was a really pretty full moon that night.
Duck, duck, goose during halftime!
I was messing around with the panorama on my phone. I'm excited to see what it can do in daylight!
We have struggled to find a place to teach Kyler how to ride his bike and to find the time, but I guess we waited the perfect amount of time because it only took us 4 evenings for about 30 minutes for him to get it down!! We are so proud of him, and he couldn't be happier!
I'm shocked that he can ride as well as he does with Damon zipping in front of him so much. I can't tell you how many times both Kenney and I told Damon to stop doing that. I guess when Kyler finally hits him he will know why; it won't stop him, but at least he'll understand!
He was so excited to make a skid mark with his tires. At the end of the video he's shouting, "I made one!"
This is what Radley likes to do when we go to the hospital parking lot to let the others ride around. He climbs into the back of the hospital's truck and practices his super hero moves.
It's been so humid here lately that Bentley's hair gets curly, and it's so cute!!
She is just too cute!
The first brother induced bloody nose. He, who shall remain nameless, was giving her a ride on push along car, when she fell off onto the tile floor. It was an accident, and he felt bad even though he was shhhing her so he wouldn't get in trouble!
Daddy getting a picture of her growing lashes. They are getting longer thank goodness! I didn't want her brother to get all those lashes!
This girl loves toothbrushes! That's the only way I can get her hair in any kind of pigtail!
