Service

Kenney has and elderly patient that needed a lot of yard work done, so this past weekend he took the boys with him to clean out his yard. The boys did great! Kenney said there was very little complaining and none at all from Kyler. They worked hard the whole time they were there. Kenney told the boys they were not going to get paid to help this man and were doing service for him. After they were done, the man thought the boys did such a good job he should pay them. He gave them $40 to split!! It was nice of him to pay them, but I'm glad while they were working they thought they weren't going to get any money for it and were still happy about helping. Kenney's a good dad for taking them with him when it may have been easier to do on his own. However Kenney did admit they are getting to an age where they will be super helpful soon.  He was bummed he didn't get any before pictures, but he got a few at the end.

The boys' job was to fill up the wheelbarrow and then empty it in the back.
Appreciating his hard work.
These boys clean up the entire front yard and driveway.  Kenney said the flower bed on the left was overflowing and covering the sidewalk.  The cracks in the driveway were also covered in weeds.  It took them about 3 hours to get it all done.
Kenney did some service for me one night too!  I was hungry and did't want anything we had to eat, so he said he would make me some crepes.  There were amazing!  We filled them with Nutella and bananas, yumm!!!  He's full of surprises and talents!

Friday Night Lights

Damon was able to go to a football game with Kenney in Childress a few weeks back, and we promised the rest of the kids we would take them to the next home game here in Wellington. It started off great weather wise that wasn't too hot or cold, but we did get a little rain on us. The wind picked up too, and it got chilly but not unbearable. The rain ran away quite a few people, but we stuck it out and watched the Skyrockets win! They boys are getting much better about watching the game, and Bentley was just excited for an excuse to wear her cheerleading uniform!

After the game, Kenney took the boys on the field to talk to a few of the players.  He has worked with some of the best players on the team.  The boys were shocked that Kenney knew the players and were super excited to get a picture with them.

This guy Alturo Tellez played a great game.  Kenney has been really impressed with him and his family.
Jojo McNight is the QB and made some great plays.  He let Damon hold his helmet which was pretty cool for Damon!
This kid is Trevor Roberson.  He's 7' with his cleats on and is committed to go play for Texas Tech when he graduates.  He had all kinds of big Division I schools looking at him.  He's a huge guy!!

Our Little Cheerleader

Bentley absolutely LOVES going to the pep rallies every Friday. She cries every day we go pick up the boys from school and don’t go to the gym. She always yells, “Not here Mom! The pep rally!!” She doesn’t quite understand they only happen once a week!! One of my friends heard about her obsession with the cheerleaders and got her a uniform complete with bloomers, socks, a bow, and pom-poms. She would have gotten her shoes, but they didn’t have any in her size!! Spoiled little girl loves her uniform and gets so excited to wear it any chance she gets. She practices her cheers and makes her brothers pick her up so she can do stunts. She also does the splits, jumps, and handsprings as she calls them.

This week the pep rally was outside on the football field because they had the cheer camp girls doing cheers.  Bentley was mesmerized by all the little girls doing cheers.

She so blessed to have brothers that support her crazy obsession and ideas. She was watching a video of cheerleading and saw the girls do stunts, so she immediately turned around and said, "Boys pick me up, pick me up!" And of course they did!!

Here are a few of her cheerleading skills!

Silly Kids

These kids are just too much sometimes!! Here are some of the goofy things they have done lately!

Kyler has had and extra tooth that we have been hoping would fall out.  We were excited when I was able to pull it out.  However, we were shocked when the next morning he came running in from the van saying another tooth fell out.  We thought for sure it would be the tooth next to the extra tooth.  But it wasn't, hahaha!!! He was so excited and not ashamed whatsoever that he looked a little silly.
I made some paper flowers because I was in charge of decorations for a party at church.  Bentley thought they made great pom-poms and showed off her cheers!

Here is Bentley showing us her cheers with her flower pom-poms.

This girl is too much.  She got herself ready to go get the boys from school one day.  She had on a swimsuit which she wears regularly around the house but thankfully covered up with a dress.  All of her accessories are crazy.  Headbands on her head as well as being used as bracelets, her purse, sunglasses, a spray bottle, and a basket of fruit!!  Wow!!

One night the boys got my phone and decided to make a video of themselves acting out Jack and the Beanstalk. Between Kyler's goofy teeth and him pulling up his pants, I'm not sure which is more dorky!!

Limited Garden Rewards

Gardening has been rough this year for everyone around here. We got most of our plants to grow but were not as lucky with production. Our green beans and jalapenos didn't produce. The pumpkins (that we didn't plant) made huge vines and flowered, but never made any pumpkins. The cantaloupe plants grew well too and produced very few fruits. However, the cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, and okra have done fairly well. Kenney works especially hard and is dedicated to watering it, so it's really disappointing when we don't get much from it.  There are also a few pictures of the garden before it started producing, and we were still hopeful!

We've gotten some decent sized bell peppers.  We haven't been successful in the past growing bell peppers so it's been nice.
Our okra finally started producing at a huge rate.  We have regular okra and big boy okra.
The cherry tomatoes were the only tomatoes that produced.
Regular vs big boy okra.
We were also able to successfully bread and fry the okra.  It tasted pretty good too!!

Labor Day Weekend

We didn't have any plans over the long weekend, which was kind of nice. One of Kenney's coworkers let Kenney and the boys borrow his Super Nintendo for the weekend. Kenney surprised them and didn't let them know it was coming. Bo brought the game system over that had all the old school games Kenney grew up playing, like the original Super Mario, Mario Kart, NBA Jam, Ninja Turtles, etc. The boys were totally psyched and happy! Bo's girlfriend even got them all kinds of snacks and treats for their weekend fun.

Kenney was also able to finish some projects including the gate we've been needing for our backyard.  He did a great job, and it's so nice having the yard enclosed completely.

Bentley didn't play the games much, but she sure enjoyed the treats.
She went a little bit overboard!!
Daddy's little 'helpers.'
I think it would have gone much more quickly without his help.
Pretty good for the first gate he's ever built.

I was not so successful in my weekend attempts as I tried to make lemon blueberry bread!  Although the inside wasn't cooked all the way through and the top was burning, the parts that were cooked well tasted fantastic!!

The kids have also been working on some new dance moves!! Here is one attempt at them doing the floss. Excuse the underwear, they had just gotten showered and ready for bed.

Hair Experiments

Bentley has been asking for me to do her hair recently and is rather specific about what she wants. However, I usually don't understand what she is envisioning so we have had a few meltdowns about it. We have compromised by letting her pick out the hairstyle she wants from an Instagram account I've started following. Here are a few of our attempts. I am still needing a lot of practice, but I'm learning.

Radley's hair has been growing because we wanted to try and cover his scar as best as possible from the sun.  These pictures were taken before he got it trimmed.  He likes doing different styles after he showers too.  Some of them are pretty crazy (and ugly).
