First Day of School

The day most anticipated by my has finally arrived!! The boys asked several times why I was so excited for school to start, haha. I have to say my house has been much quiter and cleaner since they have been away all day, but I do miss them. I thought Radley might be a little bit more nervous and anxious than he was. You could tell he was a little nervous, but he handled it super well. Kenney pulled up to walk him to his class and he jumped out of the car ready to walk himself in without Daddy!! Kenney told him to wait and walked him to the door, thankfully because his teacher wanted to take a picture of them. Good thing Kenney took him all the way. They all had a great first couple days and are ready for what waits ahead!

My 3 Beautiful Boys
3rd Grade, wow!!
He was the  most excited of all.  When we went to Meet the Teacher, Mrs. Brandon told us one of Damon's friends Cix looked at the class roster, saw Damon's name, and was so excited because he just knew they would win the 2nd grade relay on the last day of school!!  Glad to know Damon is not the only boy that is obsessed with the track meet.
Kindergarten already!!  My sweet little is off to school all day!!

Yep, that's our 3rd grader!!
Bentley saying goodbye to her boys.  I really thought she would be kind of upset and have a hard time, however she didn't shed a tear.  She asked about them a few times and was ready to pick them up at the end of the day, but she had no problem spending all day with Mom!
Waving goodbye!!
Radley with his teacher Mrs. Sumrall

All ready and excited for the first day!!

Shopping

We had stake conference in Amarillo the weekend before school started, so we had a few things we needed to get. Kenney and the boys love shopping, NOT!! Bentley however knows how to shop and loves it. She always makes sure we go look at her clothes, and she finds anything she can with Minnie Mouse on it. She tried to get me to buy her a swimsuit at Old Navy with Minnie all over it, and I thought I got her distracted enough to make her forget. However 4 days later she's still asking about it. Kenney did get a few cute pictures of the kids while I was waiting in line.

Helping Daddy shop for a new storm door.

She loves licking any spoon that I use in the kitchen.
Making sure she gets every last spec and loving it!!

Swimming at Elk's

We got one last swim in at the Elk's before school started. They all had to show off their trick. Bentley is independent and will go anywhere in the pool. She of course has a puddle jumper, but at least she doesn't need me by her side at all times. Radley can swim without his puddle jumper, but he has no confidence and doesn't trust himself. This is definitely the last summer that he gets one. Next summer he has to do it without his little security blanket.

Damon's cannonball.
Kyler doing I'm not sure what.
I think he calls this the pencil dive.
Radley doing the pencil dive.
Kyler's cannonball.
Damon has no problem doing a belly flop.  It hurts me just to watch him.
After falling off the back of this slide I figured Radley wouldn't go back on it, especially this summer, but he went down the slide several times.
Cannonball off the slide.
Hanging with the big boys in the deep end.
Jumping together.
She seriously tries to be around them all the time.
It's pretty funny watching Bentley trying to climb out of the pool.
Bentley and Damon jumping in together.
Cousins came to play too!
These two are never without the other when our families are together.

Chickens!!

Kenney has been wanting to get chickens for a while now, and while we were getting food for the family reunion at Sam's Club in June we found a great chicken coup for a really good price. We decided to get it on a whim and brought it home to set up. We built the coup as a family, which meant that Kenney and I built it with more interference than help. Damon thought the chickens were in the box with the chicken house and was sorely disappointed when there were not any.  Kenney talked with a few people around town, and one of the nurses at the hospital came through for us and brought us some chickens.  She brought 3 teenage chickens and 4 baby chicks.  Everyone then got to chose what they wanted.  Kyler has surprised both Kenney and I and has been incredible with the chickens.  He doesn't have any fear and does whatever he has been asked.

It's looking pretty good now that it has been painted which will also help it last longer in the weather.
It's so cute!!  Kenney was going to build a coup himself, but for the price we got this one we figured by the time we bought all the other supplies Kenney's time was worth more.  So we got this one.
We decided to keep on big one so we could start getting a few eggs in a couple weeks.  They named her Big Red.
Everyone trying to feed the chickens.
Kyler really has been amazing with the chickens, especially the kinda scary big one.  He has no problem going into the coup and grabbing her.
They are so little!
Well Big Red doesn't really like being held.  We're working on it!
The little red ones, Sassy and the other not named yet, are really sweet.
Bentley was super nervous when they first arrived.
The boys were trying to be brave and feed them, but it took Damon and Radley a few days to stop being jumpy long enough to actually feed them.
Big Red wasn't being very nice to the little chicks and was pecking at them.  They kept running away scared, so I brought them inside for now.  They constantly huddle and hate being separated from one another.
Damon attempting to 'hold' his black chicken Speedy while I took a picture.  He's still kinda anxious around them.
Kyler has no problem reaching in and grabbing any and all of the chickens.
Bentley wanted a picture too.  She wouldn't hold the chick, but she did at least touch one.
Looking up to make sure I was taking a picture.
Oh yeah, I'm supposed to be smiling!!  Haha!!
Wondering around the backyard.  It is so funny how they all flock together.  If one gets left behind she starts getting louder and louder until she is with the others again.

This was right after Tammy got a few of the chickens out of the box.

They all made an attempt at feeding them. Damon claimed his black chicken pecked hard and decided that he didn't want that one anymore!! He's since changed his mind, but he's still a little timid.
