Random Events

A collection of things going on in September!  There always seems to be something going on around here.

1st Grade Rocket Red Friday
Bentley hanging around with Alora
She was loving this brownie

Really loving it!
Going to eat dinner after Kyler's game, cheapest way to feed all of us!
We celebrated Papa Keys' 90th birthday with all the family together and listening to stories from his life.
Kenney doing his bee stuff!
Johnny Appleseed Day
Crazy girl with beautiful eyelashes and wild hair.
Wild girl!
Love this girl but not her clothes choices.
When the monarch butterflies were migrating, Kenney and I saw them while checking on the bees.
Kenney got a call about bees at the country club
And the clothes keep getting better with accessories!

Sometimes it's hard to understand what she's trying to tell me.

She doesn't like it when I don't give her immediate attention.

It was really peaceful watching the butterflies.

Papa telling some stories, if you can understand him.

Radley is a dang good climber!

Dad took the kids to the WAC and helped improve their skills.  I'm not too sure about their clothing choices though!

Mackenzie is the biggest pack rat there is.  She packs bags for everything, even if all we are doing is going to church where she can't even use or play with the stuff.  It's quite annoying as her stuff is everywhere!!

Nerf Gun for the win again!  Kyler is still losing baby teeth.

She has to sing "bell bell peppers, bell bell peppers" every time!

Doesn't everyone spin circles and count??

Kyler's Footbal

We officially have a kid in junior high sports!!  And for the first time, we have a kid playing real football., not just backyard ball with cousins and friends.  The first couple weeks of practice were difficult because Kyler was really not taught his position very well.  Thankfully, he has a dad that is super patient and willing to help him.  Kenney took him out and showed him what his position was and what his responsibilities would be.  They watched some videos and talked about how to play his offensive and defensive positions a cornerback and tight end.

Kyler had a great defensive first game, which really surprised him.  He wasn't given many chances whatsoever on offensive, but he always did his job and had a lot of good blocks.  He also never had a touchdown scored on his side of the field the entire season.  It was a growing year, and he learned a lot.  We were really proud of him and loved watching him play.

The season lasted through the beginning of November, but I posted the entire season here.

Super happy after his first game because he got an amazing interception (almost a pick 6), and he caused a fumble!  It was so fun to watch!
We love #40!!
Some of us liked watching the game more than others, but the girls were pretty good sports for going to so many games.  They often had to go to the bathroom during the 40ish minutes of the game, but we were there to support him.
Oma and Papa Dude made it to most of his games too!  Glad they were there for one of his best games.
Nana & Papa came to one game too.
Love this kid and proud of him for pushing through even though it was hard for him.
Catching a two-point conversion
Saving a touchdown from being scored.
Damon made sure to be at every game he could.  All of us missed one game, but Damon loved watching Kyler and cheered him on from the sidelines.  He's so excited to play himself.

Kyler caused a fumble.  He tipped it out of the guy's hands.

One of the few times I didn't have the camera going, Kyler gets an interception!!  Thankfully, one of the other moms got it.  There may have been a few tears shed when he made this play (by his dad) because he was so stinking excited for him!  Everyone was so excited for him.

From this angle you can see that the kid that ran Kyler down had about a 10 yard head start and was the best player on their team.

These are clips from the game film

So close!!

For a little guy he still attempted so many tackles

Kyler didn't have mass on his side, so he used physics!!

Of course the one game we couldn't go to (we attended a dinner recognizing the people that funded the new PT facility), Kyler scored a touchdown!  We were so excited for him.  I wish they would have given him more opportunities and threw the ball more, but at least he had a few shining moments!

Highlights from the game we missed.  Kenney would sit down with him after every game and give him pointers, but he would also encourage and point out all the positive things he did.  Kenney kept him going through the season.

I wish they would have done these plays in the open field so he could have run away from everyone, but I guess we'll have to take the 2-pt conversions they let him have.

He did great!!

Solo tackle baby!!  (I may have clipped out the part where he let the guy get behind him and Kyler had to run him down, but he didn't give up on the play and caught him before he scored!)

We Got Lights!

We have spent far too long in this house with such a dark living room. Kenney worked hard to get us some recessed lighting, and it has paid off. We all love it! He even got a fancy laser level out the of the deal.

I think this was his favorite part because it allowed him to be especially precise!
It was a little bit of a dusty job.
We had holes and flags sticking out of the ceiling for a few days, but it was so worth it!
There was a lot of up and down on the stools.
Not surprisingly, the electrical was much more tricky than it had to be.
Yeah that's sketchy

Bentley Cheering

Bentley love to cheer and Mackenzie is just following along. She attended cheer camp and performed at the pep rally and the football game. She did awesome and was one of the only girls that knew the cheers and the dance. She's a natural, not too sure how I feel about that...

Go Rockets!!
Front and center!  She looks so cute out there.

Booty shaking dance!

She knew those cheers really well considering she didn't practice all that much and I sure don't know how to help her!

Grapes and the Vineyard

Oma & Papa Dude were talking to someone and had the opportunity to go pick some grapes at the end of the grape season at a vineyard in Childress.  Kenney wanted to go too, so he took Kyler and Damon to go pick some grapes.  They had a great time and got a LOT of grapes!

It's amazing how many grapes are in one bucket and how many grapes were still on the vines.
We made fresh squeezed grape juice
And drank it in a fancy glass.
It tasted pretty good, but it was quite at clear tasting as the grape juice made commercially made.

Live action grape gathering!
