On Our Way!!

He did it; he did it; he did it!! We are so happy and proud of Kenney!! For those of you who don't know or haven't heard yet, Kenney got into the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Texas Tech University!! We are so excited!! Kenney will be in school for 3 years and then finally have a career he enjoys. He is beyond ready to get started with the next chapter of his life. He has worked really hard to get into school and was able to get into the program that he wanted.

I keep telling him that the reason he has not gotten in until now was because of Damon. That kid has not let us sleep yet (last night we got 4 hrs), and I am glad Kenney has not been trying to go through school with such little sleep. We love our Damon, but he has not made things easy on us.

I know he is relieved and really excited. He keeps coming up with new reasons to look forward to school. Yesterday, he realized that he gets to wear casual clothes everyday again! Only Kenney would think of that and be happy about it!! We aren't looking forward to down-sizing houses, but the sooner we get through school the sooner we can find a more stable place to live!! We love our Daddy and could not be more proud of him!

Kenney signing his acceptance letter.
He couldn't help but smile because he was so happy!!

Kyler has become quite the little helper these days. This is him helping Damon wash his hair in the bathtub. Luckily, Damon is not old enough to fight back, but the rate he is growing, Kyler better watch out!!

Dumb Deer

Our family has new lyrics to a Christmas song... "Kenney's truck got ran into by a dumb deer." It is sung to the tune of "Grandma Got Ran Over by a Reindeer." Kenney and Kyler went to go pick up a Christmas tree, and on the way home, a deer ran into the truck.

Kenney saw about 8 deer crossing the road 4 blocks from our house so he stopped. He looked out his window and saw a deer running toward them and then it ran right into the door!! What kind of deer does that and who can say that a deer literally ran into their car within city limits? Only Kenney. Hopefully the guys working on the door today will be able to fix it allowing the window to roll down. If not, Kenney will die from heat exhaustion in the summer without a/c or a window.

Good thing the window was up because it would have been shattered if it was down

Kenney explaining the incident and Kyler's showing what the deer did to the truck

This is Kyler the night it happened. I'm not quite sure how this explains a deer hitting the truck, but he did it over and over.

We can't forget our cute little Damon!

Getting Big

I still can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving and 2011 is coming to an end! I also can't believe that I have 2 boys!! They keep getting bigger, and in a lot of ways I am so sad about that. I still wish I could get more sleep, but it is sad to think that they will never be little again. I am so glad that I get to stay home with them and see them grow up everyday.

My mom made the boys matching pj's for Halloween, but we didn't get them until after. However, they fit perfect!

Damon is no longer a newborn, even his sweet newborn cry is gone :(

Say 'Cheese'

I'm not sure which smile is more fake!

I know most of you know what this green stuff is, but we did not see any of it in our yard this year until November! Green Grass... who knew it would be missed so much?

This is not the best rendition of Kyler singing "If You're Happy and you Know it" but he loves singing songs that have actions. This is one of his favorites.

For some reason our kids have a hard time relaxing. Kyler was famous for his crunches and Damon is not any better. Although, Damon's crunches are different. His entire body rolls into a ball and he looks very tense. Kyler never looked quite as strained as Damon. This video doesn't show him trying to sit up very well, but most of the time that I put him in the bouncer he refuses to lay back! It's pretty funny.

Beautiful Boys

I know everyone thinks they have the cutest kids, and I am no different! I am so glad that I have such beautiful boys. If we ever have a girl she's is going to have some competition from her brothers, hopefully she will be very pretty herself. So far Damon has only been called a girl a handful of times!

Damon has been getting so much better during the day! Yay!! We are all so glad that he doesn't cry all the time anymore. I'm sure he is more happy than any of us. Now we just have to get him to sleep better.

Damon loves to grab blankets or material of any kind and eat it. I think it is so cute! His dark blue eyes are one of him most prominent features.

This huge smile happens every morning that Damon wakes up in our bed. For some reason he sleeps so much better in our bed, even if we are not in there with him. I, on the other hand, sleep horribly when he is in the bed with us. Go figure!

Kyler was amazed by the recent thunderstorm we had. We even got some hail. Kyler seems to be a lot like his dad and is very interested in the weather. I was a nice mom and let him play in the rain/mud. I have to restrain myself and allow Kyler to get dirty; it's really hard for me. Don't worry he got in the bathtub right after he was done playing.

I love my beautiful boys!!

There is nothing particularly interesting about this video; I just love sweet little baby voices.

Batman & Robin

My mom, aka Oma, is absolutely A-MAZ-ING! She made the boys their costumes all the way from Missouri without ever being able to try anything on either one of them! All she had was a couple measurements, and everything turned out perfect! Let me tell you, Batman & Robin were a hit! Everyone that saw them thought they were so adorable and no one ever had to ask what they were supposed to be. Of course I thought they were the cutest boys everywhere we went, but I'm pretty sure most people agreed with me!

I think Kyler had the best day of his life on Halloween. I bribed him to eat dinner by saying that he could dress-up as Batman and take his pumpkin to get candy. That is all I had to say; he has never eaten dinner so fast! He could not believe all he had to do was walk up to people and get candy. He caught on very fast to the whole concept and was not afraid of anyone, as long as they were handing out candy. About halfway through our short adventure he got distracted by all the candy he was gathering and could no longer keep walking. The temptation was too strong, and he had to eat the candy!

BATMAN
Kyler loves his Batman belt and cape. He has worn the belt to the store, but luckily I have been able to convince him to take off the cape.

ROBIN
Damon was such a good sport. he kept his mask on pretty well, a lot of the time it would slip down and his nose would be poking through an eye whole!

This was to best picture I was able to get of Batman & Robin together. Robin didn't really cooperate. I guess it's hard when you can't even sit up yet!

Kyler kept his mask on as long as he was getting candy. Once he knew there was no more candy he took it off.

I didn't even have to pose him for this.

Billy made the blog!! When we took his picture at the church party, he was teasing us saying he was going to make the blog. Well here it is!
Kyler pretty much looked like this for the first 30 mins of the party because he had no idea what was going on and why everyone looked so funny!

Our cute little Robin without his mask

The people from the newspaper in town wanted a picture of the boys, but they didn't have a camera on them. I can at least brag they were cute enough to make the paper!

I have now figured out why people do not usually let kids pick out their own candy! Kyler could NOT make a decision. I was teasing Kenney's mom later saying he got that from her. She has a hard time making decisions too!

Happy Boys

I absolutely love the moments when both of my boys are happy! Unfortunately we have not had many of those moments, but we are hopeful that will change soon. We took Damon to his two month check-up today. He almost weighs 13lbs (76th percentile) and 23in long (53rd percentile). So yes, he is much more chunky than Kyler. He is still having a hard time so we are going to try some new things to help this little guy be happier more often. Lets hope it works!

Kyler is like his daddy; I don't know if I will ever be able to find clothes that fit him either!

He loves this hat!

I found Kyler like this one day after his nap. At least he was happy!

These videos are pretty blurry because they were taken on our phones, but at least we caught the moment.

The few times Damon has been happy are so fun! He had a hard time when we went to Nanny's house, but he did smile for her!

We have recently discovered that our United grocery store has little shopping carts for kids. It has never been so much fun to take Kyler to the store! He was so funny!!

Apparently Kyler likes the green can of Pringles.

Baby Damon

Our sweet little baby has had a rough life so far. He cries a most of the day and just seems to be uncomfortable at the least. We just started him on some acid reflux medicine that it's getting better; however, he now has a cold so he can't breathe. We just can't win with this kid!! Hopefully this next week will be better! During those few moments when he is not in pain, we have been able to see some adorable smiles!!

One of our good friends, who is incredibly talented, offered to take some pictures of Damon. These were taken about a month ago, but they are still just as sweet. I love them! I am so blessed to have beautiful boys, even if I feel extremely exhausted.

Damon 'Keys'
kinda cheesy, but cute

Success

I finally got a cute picture of both my boys! I think Kyler is adorable in this picture and Damon doesn't look half bad either. I was proud of myself, considering I did this alone. Kyler is warming up to Damon very slowly. He knows that we do not leave the house without his little brother, and he's getting used to feedings and the crying. He even gives Damon a kiss every night before bed.

I have even been successful having a baby on the path to "chubbyness". I know it might not look like much to most people, but it is far more than Kyler ever had. Damon is getting more chubby everyday because he actually eats. Imagine such a concept. Kyler is still working on that one!

Damon found a comfortable place on Daddy!

I think my kids have more shirts about their aunts than their mom. Something is wrong with this...

Family Fun

Back in July, some of Kyler's cousin's that he played with almost everyday, moved to South Texas. Last week they came up for a visit. Kyler had so much fun playing with someone his size. Brek loved Baby Damon and wanted to help feed him and give him Skittles!! We were sad they had to leave, but loved having them here!!

Kyler and Brek
(He doesn't really liked to be touched, but don't let him fool you he had lots of fun)

Tyce and Kyler both love balls and especially footballs lately. This is a cute video of Tyce and Kyler throwing the ball to each other. Tyce was cracking us up!!

Here are some still shots of Tyce. He was too funny!

Kenney's favorite. Tyce was so into it!

The best brother picture I have been able to get, sad huh? Kyler's does not look one bit happy and Damon is blowing bubbles. We've got to work on this!

Poor Damon is not a very happy baby. I think he has tummy problems and major sleeping issues, but we love him none-the-less. This video is one of his 20 minutes of happiness during the day. I had to take advantage and film my cute little baby.

My goofy Kyler. He wore this lei for about 2 hours that day.

Last Lake Trip

A labor-free day at the lake on our Labor Day. NOT!! Going anywhere with kids involves labor. We decided to go to the lake one last time with Kenney's family this past weekend because we knew Kyler would have a blast. We were not disappointed because he did have tons of fun, but there was not much playing in the water. It was the first nice weekend all summer long, making it pleasant to be outside. Although, it was not hot enough to make the water temperature feel comfortable. Kyler nor Kenney got in the water. I had no intentions on getting in the water, but Kenney didn't even go on the boat. He is the biggest wimp when it comes to cold water, and Kyler seems to follow suit! Kyler did have a great time playing in the sand and eating as many treats as he could find!!

Our days of 'real' smiles are over for a while. Now he has to make weird faces when the camera comes out.

And the weird faces continue...
Apparently it is fun to dump sand all over yourself because that is exactly what Kyler did. Don't worry, he ate plenty of it too. Anytime he dropped food, he would just pick it right back up, all covered in sand, and put it in his mouth. Yum!

Once Damon feel asleep, he loved the lake! Don't let him fool you, he only sleeps this well when the sun is up. Those dark little eyes make their appearance every morning around 3am. Luckily for me the night after we went to the lake, we was awake from 3-6am!!

He's so tired he can't even suck on a pacifier!

He didn't even know it came out

Kyler after one of the many times I had to feed Damon. We had to find something to distract him or who knows what my house would look like.

Oh how true his shirt is...
