Montana Trip Last Few Days

The last few days in Montana we went to another lake and took out the kayak and jet ski and swam some more. We hung out at the house and just had some fun!

Kenney was a brave man and took Kyler and Damon in the kayak by himself!  I was not about to get stranded in the middle of a lake with those two!!

Kyler was apparently not very good with the paddle, besides hitting Kenney, so he didn't have the paddle very long!

I forgot to take pictures but they also got to ride on the Jet Ski.  They had a lot of fun going fast and taking turns driving.  Damon thought he was racing everyone!

Radley needed a drink!

The last day we were there, Damon fell asleep sitting on Logan.  Right before sitting down, Damon had drank 2 Capri Suns.  When he woke up, Kenney noticed he was wet.  He had peed while he was asleep.  While we were changing his clothes, Logan heard us talking and said, "Hey my shirt is wet too!"  He didn't realize that Damon had peed on him while he was asleep!!  It was pretty funny, and Logan took it really well!

Radley & Grandma

The whole crew.  All of my brothers and Grandma & Grandpa.

Damon sat with Daddy for part of the trip.  He sat with me for both of the long flights of course, and he talked non-stop!!  Flying there and flying home we didn't get in until after midnight.  I had expected the boys to sleep on the plane, but Damon never did!  I was shocked.  He gave us a play-by-play of everything that was happening.  It was so funny (and slightly annoying)!

Kyler was a really good sport through all of the traveling.

This little man finally fell asleep.  Damon's talking kept him up!

They really liked to look out the window.

Radley was not so impressed with the planes, but considering everything they all did really well.

I was so excited the Denver Airport had a Jamba Juice!!!  It had been over 2 years since I had had one!!  However, the airport employees don't make them quite as good, so don't get your hopes up if you get one there!

Damon's 3rd Birthday

This little guy turned 3 while we were in Montana. All three of the boys were able to spend their birthdays with extended family this year. I bet that won't happen again. Damon was really excited for his big day and has been talking about it for a while now. He knew he was going to be 3 and couldn't wait to blow out his candles. He got hot dogs for dinner, presents, ice cream and played outside with is new Nerf guns, so it was a great night!

He was having so much fun!!
Sometimes he can look so sweet and innocent.  He absolutely loved opening his presents.  He would never let anyone help him, and he got so excited for each one!  It was pretty funny, but Kyler was totally bummed he never got to help open anything.
He kept telling me he wanted white ice cream rather than a cake for his birthday, and we had planned on making an ice cream cake, but time got away from us.  Grandma, without my knowledge, decided to run to Baskin Robins to get him a cake there!  They had a special cone made for him with a 'D' on it.  She also got an ice cream cake, but I forgot to take a picture of it.
He loved having everyone sing Happy Birthday.
There were a couple attempts made to blow out the candles by Damon and Kyler, so it ended up being a great idea for Damon to have his own ice cream cone!
That's our Damon!

Montana Trip Part 3

Glacier National Park

When my dad asked us what we wanted to do when we came to Montana, we thought it would be really cool to go see Glacier National Park.  We have been told that it was amazing and really pretty.  I have to say it was beautiful.  I'm not so sure that the boys were quite as excited about this trip to the mountains!  They were asking for the swings (the chairlifts)!! They were not the best hikers, and that is putting it nicely!  Damon said that his foot hurt when the hike had just begun.  I stopped to look at his foot and noticed a splinter.  I got it out (it was pretty big, thankfully), but Damon could no longer walk.  He pretty much refused to take another step the entire way there and back!  Kyler did pretty good and walked part of the way there and most of the way back.  Radley wanted to walk by himself, but there was no way that was happening!!  I'm just glad the boys had plenty of people to carry them!

They were done for the day after lunch.  We brought two cars so the boys went back to the house and then my dad, brother Logan, Kenney and I stayed and went on one more hike to Avalanche Lake.  It was a nice and beautiful hike and so much easier without 3 little boys!!  The creek running by the trail was gorgeous!!
The road up to Logan's Pass is called Going to the Sun Road.  I was amazed they even have a road up that high!  The road doesn't even open until the weekend of July 4th because there is so much snow.  The drive was breathtaking.
The view as we were driving.  It was still a little bit hazy from all the fires, but it was still incredible.
I loved all the waterfalls from the melting snow.  In early summer the falls are much more impressive because there is a lot more melting snow, but I love waterfalls regardless!
This is called The Weeping Wall.  Water just falls out of the rocks.  There is not a typical waterfall; it's like the rock is crying.
As  mentioned before, the hike was not extremely successful with 3 little boys!  We made quite a few stops to throw rocks into the streams and to pick up snow.
We finally made it to Hidden Lake.  It was really pretty.
The water was so blue!!
There were a lot of chipmunks, squirrels, and other little animals Damon was looking at with the binoculars (they were only about 5 feet away from him)!

Radley LOVES animals.  He was really excited to see the little animals running around.
The little guys were begging for food.  I guess they see way too many people.
The whole crew made it!
Funny story about Kyler:  On the hike back, Kyler was walking with one of my brothers Brenn ahead of everyone else.  They were walking right behind this other family, and Kyler turns to Brenn and says, "She has a big butt." talking about the lady in front of them.  Of course Brenn starts laughing.  Brenn and my brother Logan then run back to us and tell us about it.  I was mortified and so glad I was not standing there with him!  Brenn was then talking to the lady a little later.  She told him that she heard what Kyler had said and told him, "Hopefully by the time I am done with this hike it will be a little bit  smaller."  I could not believe he said that!  Then I asked him if I had a big butt.  He stopped walking, looked at my butt and said, "No."  Phew!!

There were a lot of trees and thick vegetation through the next hike to Avalanche Lake.
The creek almost looked fake it was so pretty.
The lake is at the bottom of a bowl like shape made by all the mountains and fed by waterfalls from melting snow.
My dad said he had never see the lake so low.  I guess most of the snow was gone by mid-August.
Kenney couldn't help but skip a few rocks into the lake.  I am now certain where my boys got their rock throwing obsession.
I was shocked at how clear the water was.  You can see anything in that water!
Me, Logan and my dad by the creek on the way back.
The water was a really deep aqua blue in this spot.  The picture doesn't give it justice, but it was really cool.

Had to take a Selfie!!
I had so much fun with this kid the entire trip!!

Montana Trip Part 2

Hanging Around the House

The boys just had fun being with all the family.  They played with a Wii for the first time and loved it!  They loved being able to run on the soft thick grass, wrestle with Daddy and Uncles, play with the hockey sticks, shoot Nerf guns, throw balls and Frisbees, ride the lawn mower, etc.!

Radley like to play with everyone's iPods and phones, and he really liked Logan.
Learning young!
Despite this picture, Kyler got really good at throwing the Frisbee.
It was so nice to play in the soft grass and not worry about stickers or anything pokey.  Damon rolled all over the grass.
Damon always has to tackle someone!
Radley got out there too.  He didn't get much action in the throwing department because he's not quite fast enough to get to the balls, but he still had fun!
There were several things thrown into the neighbor's yard.
Wrestling with Uncle Colin
Radley liked to find a nice place to sit.  He came and sat on the stairs every time he came outside.
Kyler and Colin were picking the grass and throwing it at each other.  Here is Kyler throwing the grass at Colin and saying, "Poof!"
Damon had a lot of fun rolling on this big ball and doing flips.
Radley got the Frisbee when Kyler and Damon were distracted with other things.  Apparently it is more fun to use it as a hat than to throw it!
Colin getting tackled by Damon
One of the many times a ball got taken away from Radley as he was running to get it!  It stinks to be the youngest!
Grandma did a lot of puzzles with the boys.
Grandpa teaching Radley how to use a hockey stick.
Radely liked hitting things, including people.
He did pretty well hitting the balls.
Radley and Grandpa
Roasting Marshmallows
One of the games for the Wii had 3D glasses.  They thought that was cool.
Ready for some s'mores!
Can you tell how excited they were to go to church?!?  They did surprisingly well considering they had never been to church there before.
Damon was exhausted everyday!  I love this shot!!
Damon cuddled with Logan quite a bit.
