January Around Home

Most of January Kenney was busy at work while the rest of us were stuck inside! The boys started basketball and we shelled pecans. We also attended Stake Temple day which the boys absolutely love! They look forward to playing and eating snacks at the stake center while we are in the temple.

One night while the big boys were at Scouts Bentley and Radley got to have a bubble bath and they LOVED it!!

Blowing the bubbles.
Bentley always wants to help with the dishes or anything I do in the kitchen.  She often takes the washcloth and wipes all kinds of things down around our house.  Needless to say, we have a lot of wet stuff throughout the day.

During December and January Kenney and I shelled lots and lots of pecans.  In total we shelled over 36.5lbs of pecans!!

Papa Dude armed the boys with Nerf guns and over 500 bullets while we were in Missouri, so he decided to take sympathy on Kenney and sent him a gun too. He wanted me to video while Kenney opened the package. He sent the smallest Nerf gun available with 4 bullets that had each of the kid's names and a package of tissue for when they started crying. It was pretty funny!

Kenney always seems to catch the silliest little videos of the kids. Here's a clip of Radley messing around. If you listen closely you can hear him say, "Cause I made cookies." It's pretty funny!

Bye-Bye Fireplace

Kenney completed a visual miracle while we were gone to Missouri. He removed to glass monstrosity that had been sitting in our living room since we bought our house. It was a big under taking, and I am so glad that it is gone!

New Years Missouri Trip

The kids and I took off to Missouri for New Years. I was horrible about taking pictures during our trip. We didn't have any big plans nor did we do a whole lot, but it was a great trip. It was absolutely frigid while we were there (we're talking negative degrees and highs in the single digits).  The boys of course played video games as much as we allowed, and I of course went shopping as much as I could!  Bentley was just happy to be around everyone.  We played some games, went to IKEA, I was able to go to the temple, us girls got a haircut, and ate lots of yummy food!

Oma & Papa Dude got all the kids McDonald's.
George trying to figure out what was so cool about video games!

Bentley got a little trim to even her hair out.  She wasn't super excited at first because she wouldn't let us put a cape on her or sit in the chair, but once we gave her Oma's phone, she was perfect!
I cut off quite a bit of my hair.  Mine was getting super long and hard to take care of every day.  I ended up donating 18 inches and cut off about 21 inches total once it was all evened out.  It was the 4th time I have done it in the last almost 11 years.  It was just as shocking this time as it was the first!!
It feels like it's so much shorter than the picture shows!!

Hanging out at IKEA before the play area opened.  The boys loved playing there, and I think Bentley enjoyed her time with just Oma and me.
They are much less innocent than they appear!!

Here's the one interaction of Bentley and George getting along. They didn't really like one another too much, but they both loved Papa Dude so they compromised in order to both play with him.
