Pioneer Park

The weather got a little warm and we needed out of the house.  We decided to go to Pioneer Park and play in the river.  We drove there the day before we were meeting cousins there to make sure it would be open.  It was 95 degrees that day and there was no one in sight.  The next day it wasn't quite as warm or sunny, but we made the most of it.  The kids ran and played in the water and sand.  Mackenzie was shaking several times while we were there, but she wasn't crying!  It was totally worth it.  It takes a lot of work to get all the stuff together, sunscreen the kids, load and unload everything twice, but in the end it was just what we needed.  The cousins coming to play was the icing on top!

She loved the water!!

We needed this kind of social distancing.

All busy and leaving me alone for a few seconds anyway.
Trying to get a little bit warm.

Makenzie was so funny to watch as she was trying to walk around in the water. She was having a blast! Bentley was also trying to learn how to swim which was also comical!

She was also got really cold and started shaking!!

Quarantine

Spring break started with a week of quarantine.  We didn't have many plans to begin with, but COVID-19 has really been inconvenient.  We knew there was a possibility of school not starting again, but I remained very hopeful.  Alas, my hopes did not come to fruition.  We found out shortly that we would not be returning to school for at least 2 weeks!  Thus homeschooling began!

She loved her chocolate muffin!
This is how one of our days began!!  Yep, that's about half a gallon of spilled milk, and yes, I wanted to cry over spilled milk because the day was just beginning.
Bentley learning how to put earring in.  It was easier for her to do it on me than herself.
The boys thought it was so funny that she loved to wear their headphones so they took about 20 pictures of her

Mackenzie doesn't play too nicely with Acey.
She has been very nervous about the trampoline.  She would hold on for dear life because she was scared.  Slowly as Kenney and I would get on there with her to try and help get her more comfortable.  It only took a few days, but she finally got comfortable.  She loves it now!
That tongue!
She loves to smack her brothers too.  They take it really well and usually encourage her to do it!
The new hangout location around our house is Acey's doghouse.  Apparently we have been close enough lately, so they decided to squish into the doghouse.  Damon has been begging to sleep outside with Acey in there.  He seriously wants to sleep in there.
And then I find these on my phone!

She's gotten so brave so fast. I think fun wins over nerves every time with this one (sounds a lot like her brother Damon).

We caught Acey sleep talking on night. Damon thought it was so funny!

Sometimes there is no accurate caption to describe a video of this girl!  She was telling me how she can feel her brain before this started so I tried to get her to explain it again.  I didn't get a great explanation, but I got a lot of other random stuff.

Kyler's Birthday

Kyler is 10!!! Wow that's crazy! I can't believe I've only been a parent for 10 years. It seems like so much longer than that. He was really excited to go to school on his birthday this year. It's the first time any of our kids have ever gone to school on their birthday. Between summer and spring break it has never happened, but they moved spring break this year. He also wanted to have a few friends over for ice cream sundaes, to play basketball, and do an obstacle course. It was kinda organized at the last minute because we didn't know if he would have a basketball game or not, but it worked out that we were able to celebrate on his actual birthday. He had a great time. Several of the kids showed up early and had dinner with us (thankfully I had enough of his birthday dinner) some of them weren't even invited to the party but ended up staying anyway. Then they played basketball while they waited for the rest to show up. Kenney and I quickly set up an obstacle course and gathered everyone in. They had a blast! We timed all of them and Radley ended up winning!! We opened presents and then had ice cream. They boys then spread out to play with the new presents and play basketball.

Overall, it was a great night for Kyler. He is such a good kid. Rarely do we have problems with him. He makes friends with everyone which showed in the variety of kids that showed up for his party. He's super smart and like to make us proud of him. We are so blessed he's part of our family!

He didn't even want a cake!  Yay!!
We only stuck 5 candles in his ice cream!
Lots of boys playing basketball!
Kyler getting dizzy!
His friend Jax
Lawson jumping a 'hurdle'
Damon racing to the finish.
Damon held the top spot for a while, but Radley passed him up at the end.
The tunnel gave them the most problems and held them up the most.
Acey was loving all the kids running around
Leo climbing out
Radley running around the cones
Kicking the soccer ball.
Jeremiah running to the finish
Mackenzie kept herself busy while the boys were racing!  The girl always finds water.

Kyler doing the course.  He was the only one that missed the basketball shot.  It came back to haunt him because he probably lost because of that and missing the kicks.

Radley beating all the big boys.

Finding Things To Do

She was fascinated when she got her toenails painted for the first time.
She was checking out how pretty they were.
Bentley and her friend Alora all dressed up to watch Frozen II.  These girls try and figure out how to play with each other every day, and they almost succeed.  They sure are social.
Doing a Come Follow Me lesson about being unshaken.  All four of them were unable to shake this tree!!

Little Bee's Playhouse

The girls and I woke up early one morning because we needed to take Acey to be spayed in Amarillo. It was a rough trip getting there. We haven't figured out if Acey gets really bad anxiety or she gets motion sickness, but we thought she might throw up. I was slightly prepared and didn't let her roam around the van. However, I didn't anticipate her throwing up 3 times and pooping twice!! Yeah it was disgusting!! Not a morning I ever wish to repeat!

We were going to be stuck in Amarillo all day, so our friend that found Acey for us and insisted that we get a dog, said she would give me the money to take the girls to a little playplace for kids.  It was the cutest little place with a little town full of miniature places they kids could play in i.e. a grocery store, post office, a house, an ice cream shop, a farm, a school, etc.  There were several other activities too.  The girls loved it and had a great time!  It was a perfect activity for them.  We went to a few stores after that and then picked up Acey.  Thankfully our drive home was uneventful.

Bentley had a great time in the ice cream shop.  She spent a lot of time there.
Mackenzie had a great time just following Bentley everywhere.  She loved that everything was her size, for the most part.

Emptying all the shelves.
The new Postmaster
Bentley spent the most time in the little house.  She set the table with dishes and cooked dinner.  Then she cleaned it all up and put everything in it's place.  She did laundry, swept and mopped the floor.  The girl can clean, now I need to use those skills at home...
She also curled and straightened her hair, shaved her whiskers, painted her nails, etc
Mackenzie had to take a turn too.
Mackenzie went to school.

Making more ice cream

This place was perfect for their ages.

I was surprised how long Bentley would concentrate and in each new place.
