Takin' a Walk

Kenney is required to get involved in community health events for school every semester.  Last weekend the boys and I were able to be part of the experience too.  We did a walk to end Alzheimer's along with at least 1000 others.  There  were plenty of things for the boys to watch, and they enjoyed to walk.  We only lasted for 2 miles, but we did have to wait for about an hour for the walk to start and they were getting tired.  We were also lucky because the weather was so nice.  It was in the 60s and fabulous!  Overall, we had a good time, and it was a fun way to spend our Saturday as a family.

I love how our family pictures are getting worse and worse!

The Texas Tech Women's Basketball team lead the walk (for only about 1/4 of a mile before they quit) but the boys had fun watching them and the miniature ponies.

This player loved our boys and just wanted to hold Damon.  He was a pretty good sport about it and let her hold him without screaming.

Kyler wanted to pet these ponies, but he looks extremely unsure of it here.
I'm not sure which was more uncomfortable, the basketball player or the pony.

Kyler discovered how to roll down a hill while we were waiting for the walk to start.  He really loved going down over and over.  Somehow pretty much every time he went down he hit Damon.  I'm not so sure it was an accident after the first time!

Kyler got out of the stroller a few times and ran along with everyone else.  He had fun keeping up!

The people go all the way back around the corner. There were quite a few of us.

After we got back they had lunch for everyone.  The boys each got their own bag of Cheetos and LOVED it!

Bubble Mania

The Science Spectrum recently had a bubble mania night so we headed there for a night of fun.  The boys love the Science Spectrum anyway, but add bubbles and they were in heaven!!  There were all kinds of bubble activities.  One was bubble art where Kyler had to blow air through a straw into a container with dyed liquid and then press paper on top of the bubbles to make an 'impression' on the paper.  Well instead of blowing through the straw Kyler sucked up the nasty soapy liquid into his mouth!  It was funny and gross at the same time, but it didn't seem to bother him.

Kyler playing with the big bubbles Daddy made for him

Oh yeah he attacked that bubble.  I love how aggressive he gets just popping bubbles!!

"I can almost reach it."

Blowing through the bubble sheet.  I love that both Kenney and Kyler are blowing.  I think Kenney had a little more power behind his blow!

"Oh no, where did the bubble go?"  He has a very nervous look on his face.

It took us to the very end to finally convince Kyler to stand in the bubble.  He was very uncomfortable about the whole thing.  I don't think he was afraid of the bubble, it was all the people looking at him while he was doing it that made him unsure.
Damon standing in a bubble.  He wasn't quite so sure what was going on around him, but he didn't seem to mind.

Nothing better than running and jumping!  He has some great sound effects to go along with the popping.  He eventually started running from across the room to jump on the bubbles.  Of course he had to run fast!
Damon had a much harder time popping the bubbles.  He can't quite jump yet and doesn't weight enough to pop them well, but he still had fun!

Random Life at the end of Summer

I forget how often the boys do silly things or how much silly things are a part of our everyday life.  I have tried to capture a few of those things lately and the rest of this post is just random happenings of our lives!

Damon's 'comfortable' sleeping position.  This kid moves so much in his sleep!  He is everywhere.  If he was not contained he would be all over the room, literally!

These boys LOVE chocolate milk.  They will both actually stay still and drink it.  Not much can slow them down but chocolate milk can!

The boys love playing in the water, especially indoors.  Sometimes when I am trying to get ready, the only way to keep them occupied is to let them play in the sink.  I don't recommend starting this at your house.  It's wet, messy, sometimes results in tears, and then becomes expected every time you enter the bathroom.

Here's a little clip of them playing.  Who knew the sink could be so fun?!?

Damon clapping for Kaden (Kenney's brother) at a recent football game.  He didn't even last through 5mins of the game before we had to take him down to the grass.  I don't know why we even thought we were going to watch the game!

Kyler watching the action.  He did much better than Damon, but after the cheerleaders threw him a ball, all he wanted to do was play football himself.  Celesta (Kenney's cousin) who was at the game with her two girls told me how much easier it was to bring boys to a football game.  She brought a big bag full of books, crayons, purses, etc. to entertain her girls.  She pointed out all Kyler needed was one ball.  It's true he played with that ball for 3 quarters and halftime!

Damon has only had mac-n-cheese a handful of times.  This is one of them.  Do you think he likes it?  I had to keep getting him more and more.  I guess I forget that most kids eat food like this.  Kyler, the weirdo, still won't touch it!

Yumm, that was so good!

Kyler got in bed with us one morning, which is not unusual, and he always makes sure that he is comfortable.  Yes, he propped his feet up ON me and completely took over MY pillow!  I keep telling Kenney this is why we need a bigger bed.  Our full size bed just doesn't cut it!

Unfortunately, this is a pretty common sight if you are around Kyler for very long.  He picks his nose all the time.  The other night Kenney put Kyler to bed and said that he wanted me.  I thought he just wanted to say goodnight.  I was totally wrong.  He kept saying, "Mommy!  Mommy!  Here, here."  I didn't know what he was talking about until he put a booger in my hand.  He didn't want to say goodnight; he wanted to give me his booger!!  Gross.  Who does that?  Don't get me wrong, I am very glad he doesn't eat them or wipe them on the wall, but seriously, he has to hand it to me?  It was disgusting.  Oh the life with little boys!
