The Dining Room

While we were in Austin, Kenney stayed home to work, but we also thought it would be a good time to tile the dining room floor because the kids would be out of the house.  We were able to get the carpet, padding, tack strip, and staples all pulled up Saturday night before I left so they could get to work with the tile Monday evening.  There were a few issues getting the hardiebacker laid down so they were a little behind when we got back.  We also came back a little sooner than expected because my mom got sick while we were gone.  However, after a long week of spring break and keeping kids away from the dinning room, it has been so nice to have an official dinning room.  And after 5 years of vacuuming under my kitchen table I can finally sweep under it!!  I have never been so happy to use a broom!
Ugly green carpet!!
There were some really pretty hardwood floors under the carpet, but there was a big hole cut out (see bottom right), but there would also be uneven transitions to the living room and kitchen.
Hardiebacker all in!
Tile halfway done.
So close
Look at that amazing sweepable dining room floor.!!
I think it looks really good!

St Patrick's Day Parade

We were able to go to Shamrock, Texas for their annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. It was long parade, but there wasn't very much candy or anything too exciting. The kids had fun, but I thought it was kinda disappointing.

I still love their little feet!
Now there are drones filming parades??  Wow things have changed!
All smiles with loads of gum from the parade!
She was loving 'her' chair.
These guys riding around in tiny little cars were so funny because I think they found the biggest guys they could find to drive them.
Selfie for the win!
My cute little cheeser!
"Mom is this a real smile?"  Me: Pretty close Kyler, pretty close!
"What about my smile Mom?"  Me: Much closer Radley!
The candy cannot get here fast enough!

"It's coming...."

Here is a video of those guys riding around in the tiny cars. Where did they even get those cars?

A visit to Nanny's

It had been a while since we had driven to Austin to see Nanny and Aunt Darla, so I decided to go during spring break. Oma thought it would be a good time to see us and went with us. The boys were anxiously awaiting for Oma to get here and were super excited to see Nanny. We had a good time visiting with Aunt Darla and Kelly too. The kids played monkey in the middle and showed everyone some of their dancing skills! They also got spoiled and were able to pick out some toys and pajamas. They had a great time!
I got up the first morning and all the kids were on Nanny's bed.
Nanny and Bentley on a walk to get the mail.  I have a picture just like this with Kyler and my Granddaddy.
Nanny with the kids.  Radley wouldn't cooperate, and it's still not the greatest picture.
4 generations of girls!
Aunt Darla and Kelly came to spend the evening with us, and all the kids loved it!
I was really surprised how often the boys would go sit quietly and color at Nanny's table.
We also went to visit my Great Aunt Icie who is in a nursing home near Austin.  I was really proud of how well the kids did while we were visiting her.  Everyone loved watching the kids run around.
Costco shenanigans.
Chrurros!!  What's more to love than Bentley with a churro???

I didn't get any video of the kids dancing at Nanny's, but one day Damon came home from school saying their class had been challenged to a dance-off. He came home to practice and this is Radley doing the song. It's pretty funny!

Crazy Kiddos

These kids make sure that there is never a dull moment around our house. Here are a few things keeping us busy and entertained lately.
What's a little dress-up without some high heels!  We've never had those before so Radley had to try them out.
Sometimes if this kid sits still long enough he will still take a little nap.  It reminds me that he's still pretty little.
We've got all kind of dress-up confusion around here.  Heels, a skirt and a batman cape!
She loves these glasses!
My mom bought this dress when Kyler was a baby because my sisters and I all fell in love with it.  She's kept it hoping one day a granddaughter would one day be able to wear it.  Well the day finally came!!  I didn't get the best picture of her in it, but Bentley can finally wear it.  I still love it and think it's so cute!
Damon has gotten hurt quite a bit lately.  He rolled his ankle one day in PE on the inside of his foot and was all swollen.  Then a few days later, Kyler landed on him and rolled his ankle again, but this time on the outside.  I have never seen a little kid with a bruised and rolled ankle like this before.  He even stuck his foot in a bucket of ice when Daddy told him it would help.  He didn't walk very much for two days.  His only concern was that he wouldn't be able to run in the track meet at the end of the year.  I guess he's really excited about that track meet!
More dress-up confusion but with a hat this time.
Every kid loves a laundry basket. (Ignore the mess, we had all the dining room furniture in the living room while we were doing the floor).
Weirdo Radley found all these balloons and thought it was funny to stick 10 of them in his mouth and blow them up.
Kyler decided to try and blow them up like Radley
Batman (aka Kevin) showed up at Asher's birthday party!  It was a big hit!
Fun with cousins.  These 3 little boys have a lot of fun together.
One night some friends came and got Damon to go watch a movie at the movie theater so we had our own movie night with popcorn for the little ones.  They loved it and didn't feel left out at all!
Bentley's first bubble bath.
Kyler was able to get his face painted at school one day for getting all of his Accelerated Reading points.

Bentley is still being pretty stubborn about talking, but she likes to say animal sounds. This little video shows almost her entire vocabulary.

Bentley is trying to keep up with the big kids. She's holding her own pretty well!

More Basketball

Kyler's team got so much better as the season progressed! They even won a few games, one in overtime! Kyler said he had fun playing and seemed to enjoy himself. Watching little kids play anything can be pretty hilarious, and this season did not disappoint, but it will be more fun to watch when Kyler is actually trying to play. For now we're just glad he's having fun!
It wasn't unusual for Kyler to be running alone somewhere on the court!
Kyler's typical defensive stance: staring his man down and not looking for the ball whatsoever!
Their little huddles were so cute because they are still so small!
What there's a basketball game going on??  These water bottles are much more entertaining!
He's dribbling which means he's touching the ball!!
Little Miss was not so fun to watch during the games.
Kyler and his friend Jax with their trophies!
"I'm open!"
And this is how Kyler preferred 'playing' basketball... on the bench with his legs crossed watching a screen!
