September Happenings

September has been an unusual month for us with all the rain. There were two and half weeks straight of cloudy and raining weather. We haven't seen that in Texas, well, maybe ever! Every chance we could escape outside, we tried to take!
The boys love climbing at the park!

Radley of course wanted to hang like his brothers.  I tried to get out of the way for the picture, but I wasn't fast enough!

This happens every time we go to the park!!

Radley saw the other two go now he had to go too!

On National Pirate Day, Krispy Kreme gave away a dozen donuts to anyone dressed as a pirate.  Well, I have decided that's why I have kids!  Why dress myself up when my boys look so much more adorable as a pirate than me?!?

They loved their donuts!

Look at Radley; I love it!

I'm not sure if any of the glaze actually made it into his mouth!

Sometimes he can be so sweet!

A very rare moment in our house.  All three boys still and quiet!

It is so precious to see Radley folding his arms.  I love it!

This is the spider climb at the gym.  When the boys go to their 'exercise class' sometimes they let them climb around in here.  Kyler is the kid at the very top and Damon is on his way to the top!

One night after dinner Kenney told me to go in our room and shut the door while he did the dishes (how sweet right?!?) So I tried to sneak in the room, but I started to hear noises on the door.  Damon and Radley were peeling paint off the door.  Thanks guys!!  So I told them to stop, and then they proceeded to yell and bang on the door.  So much for some peace and quiet!!

Radley wanted to ride the bikes like the big boys.  He thinks he can do anything they can do!

Daddy riding bikes with the boys!

Damon and I at Uncle Kaden's football game.

The best part of the game for the boys!

Kyler holding up a #1 during the school song.  It was really cute!

We love our Kacy!

They were so excited to go see Kaden after the game.

So maybe running around on the field after the game is the best part of the game for the boys!!

He was so excited he got a football too.

We met up with Nana & Papa and Kacy before the game and ate with them at Dairy Queen.  Papa asked if we should get ice cream before or after the game?  I said we should just get to the game because it was getting late.  Right after the game was over, Kyler said, "I want some ice cream now."  He of course didn't forget what Papa said, so he took them back to Dairy Queen!!  These boys are so spoiled!!
Papa knew how to make these boys happy!

I told Kyler to turn to the side so I could see him lick the cone.  He purposely closed his eyes!!

Damon wanted to take Radley for a ride!  He can be sweet to Radley sometimes!

With all the rain, we have had snails all around our front door. Radley likes to step on the snails and smash them. It is pretty funny watching him try to step on them and use his limited balance.

Rainy Day Fun

There have been about 3 rainy/colder days here this past week, and the boys have been going a little stir crazy! We have been trying to stay entertained, but have begun to run out of ideas. The boys begged to go out and play in the rain and splash in the puddles. Luckily they waited patiently and let me control the circumstances as much as possible. We got some play clothes, took off the shoes, and got some towels.  I much prefer having the boys splash in puddles when I am prepared to clean up a big mess rather than them doing it in a random parking lot away from home!  We also went to Lowes and made some binoculars one rainy day, but being inside means more wrestling which in turn causes more injuries.  Radley is also doing everything he can to be just like his brothers.  The pictures and video prove just how hard he tries!

The race track has come out at least twice everyday!  Damon loves to play with the cars and can finally set the track up himself.  That is so nice!!

Photo Bomb

Radley is starting to get quite attached to his blankets

Radley has no hesitation playing in the rain.  He went straight for the deepest puddle!

And then he fell...but it didn't take him long to get right back up!

They were having so much fun!!  It was such a joy to watch them just run around having a blast!

You can't really see it in the picture, but everything had to stop when they found a grasshopper.  They were also impressed with all the snails that came out with the rain.

Damon's face...I love it!

Surprisingly he didn't fall after this, but his shorts did get wet.  He came up to me, "Mom my shorts are wet.  I need some new ones."  He wanted dry shorts to come right back outside and splash in some more puddles!  Yeah, I said no!!

They all loved seeing the water splash everywhere

Radley had to get involved too!
Teamwork means bigger splashes.

Kyler is getting much better at building these projects.  He can set in all the nails and hammer them down.  He is in deep concentration!

Finished product!
Injury Report

Radley broke the skin on the back of this head for the first time!  Luckily it wasn't too deep and there wasn't much blood.

It's hard to see, but Damon got another black eye.  He and Radley were both jumping on the couch and they hit heads.  Radley didn't seem bothered at all, but Damon screamed and then got a nice shiner.
About 30 mins after Radley busted his head, Damon ran into the back of Kyler's head while they were wrestling.  He bit really deep into his tongue and started bleeding everywhere.  He screamed for a while, but has been fine ever since.  As long as Damon cannot see the injury, he can recover much more quickly.
I have never seen a tongue turn such a deep purple.  He cut it and bruised it really bad!

One of the Big Boys
Radley is waiting for Kenney to put a spinning  ball in his finger.  I love how he is just standing there with his finger all ready to go!
They all love climbing onto the couch and turning this light on and off.
I am no longer able to feed him.  He insists on doing it himself or he will refuse to eat.  It is such a double edged sword.  I can now eat my dinner sooner, but then I have this huge mess to clean up!
This makes me laugh every time!!  Radley now follows the boys into the bathroom and goes pee!  He thinks he is doing what Kyler and Damon do when they use the restroom.  He walks up to the toilet, lifts the toilet seat and lid and pulls up his shirt.  He then leans over the toilet and acts like he is peeing!  It is so funny!!  Sometimes he may also put his hands in the water (before the other two have time to flush which is disgusting), but he truly believes he is doing everything his brothers are doing!!
This made me nervous, but I was impressed how well he was able to climb up this ladder. It was not an easy ladder to climb either! He was so proud of himself!

End of Summer

Summer has ended and our pool has closed, but we made sure to use it to the very end. Our maintenance guy for the apartments even told me how to break into the pool when the office is closed, but I don't think we'll be going again! We went to Nana & Papa's house Labor Day Weekend. We were able to see Aunt Savanna and her fiance Kevin. (They got engaged while we were there. It was a lot of fun, and we are super excited for them!) There are a lot of other random pictures too!

Now that summer is over, the boys are both fully independent in the pool!  They can jump in and swim with floaties.  Maybe next year we will try to do it without floaties, but while Radley was still so little my nerves couldn't handle going to the pool without them.
Damon was so tried at Nana & Papa's house one day, he fell asleep like this.  Hand in the bowl and everything.
Damon now goes on the tube willingly at the lake.  Right after this picture was taken, Papa started the boat to pull them and apparently there was too much weight on the front of the tube.  The tube took a  nose dive into the water and knocked all three of them off.  Damon was so scared!  Kyler and Avery took it really well, but poor Damon just started to go out on the tube.  He was screaming and terrified.  Hopefully since it was the last ride of the day and the summer that he will forget before next year and still want to go out again.
This little monkey thinks he can do everything.  He often climbs up like this to wash his hand or rinse his dishes off.  It is nice that he is so independent, but it also gets very annoying when he makes a much bigger mess than what he is trying to clean up!
One day we had to go to a gun shop to go pick up something for Papa's guns.  After I paid for the stuff, the guy in the shore asked me if the boys would like to feed some camels.  I thought I heard him wrong so I asked him to repeat it.  Well I heard right!  He gave us a loaf of bread and sent us behind the shop to go feed some camels!!
There were lots of other animals too, goats, donkeys, bison, cows, etc.  Radley was a little intimidated by how big the animals were, so he just kinda hung back and watched.
Kyler had no problem feeding the animals.  He just stuck the bread through the holes in the fence.
Finally, as we were on our last few pieces of bread, Damon decided to get a bit more courage and began to feed the animals too!
One morning we had some doctors appointments and had about an hour and half between appointments, and rather than going home we went to the park.  It was so nice outside and no one was at the park (neither were surprising since it was not even 8am when we got there!).
Radley now thinks he can do everything the big boys do, and he sure does try!
Kyler wanted me to take a picture of him doing everything.  He's quite the little poser now!
Radley trying to keep up!
He really does try to do everything they do.  He doesn't realize how small he is because he truly believes he can and should do whatever they do!
He did love to sit in this swing and eat his cereal.  It was nice to have one sitting still even for a few minutes.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and I have a friend who's little girl had leukemia.  She has been trying to get the word out there to help battle this disease.  To help support their family, I decided to donate my hair again, but I think this was the most shocking and drastic change for me. I have done this twice before, and it wasn't a big deal.  I was supposed to get 10 inches cut off, but she ended up cutting at least 13 inches off.  I am still not quite used to the change, however the hair is gone so I have to adjust!  The boys didn't even notice when I walked in the door.  I asked if my hair looked different and neither Kyler nor Damon said anything.  How could they not notice?  I asked Kenney if it looked ok (he really likes my long hair).  He didn't say anything.  So I asked if it looked bad, and he said, "It doesn't look bad, just different."  I guess this is the type of reaction I should expect living with a house full of boys!!
