Halloween Festivities

This year Halloween has been so much fun for us. The boys are really getting into it and loving it! They have gotten two Halloween packages from Oma and Grandma which brought lots of fun things and most importantly TREATS!!! We have carved pumpkins, made treats, and talked about spooky things. Kids have made holidays so much more fun!!

We convinced Kyler to stick his hand in the pumpkin, but he didn't like it one bit!  There is a video clip at the end of the post with his reaction.

Kyler has been making the best faces lately!  Apparently, you cannot carve pumpkins with clothes on; I'm learning there are a lot of things you cannot do with clothes!!

The only part of the pumpkin the boys would touch.  Kenney and I were talking about how long it took to carve pumpkins as kids, and it seemed like it took forever.  I was amazed at how quickly we got it done this year.  It took like 15mins to carve two of them!

Kyler drawing the face on one of the pumpkins.  He then proceeded to draw all over it!

The finished products!  Kyler call his pumpkin, the one in the back, 'spoogily' aka spooky.

Taking them outside

Radley's first Halloween, and our first attempt at pumpkin carving!

Kyler decorating the Halloween cupcakes we made.  He helped me make them while Damon was taking a nap.  When they came out of the over, I told Kyler they had to cool down before we could frost them.  He refused to leave the kitchen saying that he would 'wait.'  And wait he did not!  I walked into the other room, and less than 10 mins later he had eaten the top off of 4 cupcakes!!  The child does not have any patience!!

The cupcake is much more impressive than the 'smile'

Damon had to lick the knife every time before getting more frosting!

This little cutie stole Damon's dog while they were busy decorating frosting.

I love that cute little face!

I tried to get a picture of the boys dressed in cute vests for church and this is the best we could do.  2 out of 3 isn't bad, right?!?!

Hanging at Home & Radley's Haircut

Radley has almost gotten back to normal since the surgery. When I say back to normal, I mean that he is almost unspoiled!  I held him quite a bit the first two weeks after his surgery, and he got used to it pretty fast.  He was no longer content to lay around and kick, but he is slowly getting better about playing without being held.  I guess I got kinda spoiled before the surgery, because neither one of the other boys were nearly as happy as Radley.

We decided to cut Radley's hair while we were gone for the weekend.  He looks so different now!  I am sad that he is not the shaggy haired little boy I used to have.  He seems so much older and grown up.  His hair still sticks up, but it looks a little bit more controlled now.  Radley did pretty well while Kenney's Nanny cut it, but he was really tired so it didn't last very long.  He started to cry about halfway through, and it was too late to stop!

I found him sleeping like this one day, and I can't say I blame him.  It is really hard to sleep with two crazy brothers running around screaming!!

He LOVES his fingers!

He laid like this for about 10 minutes happy as could be, so I didn't move him.  He never has two socks on, ever.  Kyler and Damon hate him wearing socks.  They always pull his socks off.

Damon really does love his little brother.  Sometimes he will just walk up to Radley and kiss his forehead.  I love it when they are sweet to one another..

Radley's hair before

Cute happy smile before

Yes, it really sticks up like that, no matter what I do.

The hair over his ears was out of control.  It has been that way since he was born and has just gotten worse.

He did pretty well and just chewed on his fingers, for the first part.

Starting to get a little agitated.

Halfway there!

Basically finished and completely upset.  He was so tried that he just feel asleep as soon as I got him, covered in hair and everything!

This is the boys' new favorite song. I can never get enough of them laughing. I have sung this song so many times in the last few days!!

Saying Bye to Keyan

Kenney's brother Keyan is about to leave on a mission for our church in a few days.  We went to hear him speak in church and say goodbye before he leaves for 2 years.  Keyan is one of our boys' favorite people to play with when we visit, especially for Kyler.  He is always playing and wrestling with the boys, inside and out.  He jumps on the trampoline, throws balls, plays beautiful music on the piano, and is just fun to be around.  We are all going to miss him!  I think Kyler will remember who he is, but Damon and Radley will probably not remember him at all.  It's kind of sad to think about, but it won't take long, once he gets back, for him to become a favorite once again!  We love our Uncle Keyan and are extremely proud of him!!

Keyan went with us to the park and the boys loved having him there.

Damon refused to go down any of the slides for the first 1/2 hour, but he can swing from just about anything!

Kyler & Keyan had fun racing to the top of the super high slide!

Damon had no problem climbing the ladder, but he refused to go down once he got there.

Kyler had no issues; he just had a blast!

I got on the tire swing with ALL the boys.  We didn't last very long, but Kyler made some pretty funny faces.

The best shot of the 4 of us, surprise, surprise!

Another goofy face

Getting eaten by a lion

Radley is going to be so big once Keyan gets back, crazy!!

"My turn for pokey"

There is never a dull moment with these 3 boys around, and going to the doctor is no exception!  When we took Radley and Damon in for well-child-checkups a little over a month ago, Kyler and Damon ended up getting flu shots.  We weren't sure who should get the shot first, but we ended up deciding to let Kyler go first.  I was helping the nurse, as she was trying to calm Kyler down, while Kenney was distracting Damon.  (By some miracle, Kenney was able to go with us for this appointment.)  Kyler then started screaming, "I don't want a pokey.  I don't want a pokey."  We are not quite sure why he called the shot a 'pokey', but he kept calling it that.  Then the nurse gave him the shot, and he really started screaming.
As Kyler is screaming, like he is being pulled apart limb by limb, Damon looks at Kenney with extreme excitement on his face and says, "MY TURN FOR POKEY!!"  He put his fists up by his face and everything because he was so excited to get his 'pokey'.  He obviously did not notice that Kyler was screaming in pain!  Poor Damon didn't know that he would have to give a blood sample and get a flu shot.  Needless to say, he was not quite as excited when his finger was poked or when he got his 'pokey'.  There is a video of the boys talking about 'pokies' at the end of the post, but it's not nearly as good as the actual moment of Damon screaming, "My turn for pokey!"

This is Radley getting a pokey!  He had to get a nuclear test done before his surgery where they literally strapped him to a table, put radioactive particles into his system through an IV, and take several 'pictures' of the particles leaving his body through his kidneys.

I don't know why I think this bandage is so cute, but I do!

He has had far too many of these hospital bands in his life.

Although he has had 3 IV's, he has had at least 6 catheters, that I can think of, in his 3 short months of life!

He has pretty much returned back to normal!

All Smiles!

Isn't that a suspicious look?!?

This kid will NOT stay on his tummy.  He rolls over all the time!

He makes this face quite often when his brothers are playing too close to him.

The best picture, thus far, of these three!

This little boy has such amazing strength.  He will lunge himself at both Kenney and I any time he gets a chance and just hold on with his legs.  He now climbs up door frames!

Kyler and Damon talking about 'pokies.'

The boys get so excited when Radley does something new. I always get updates if I am in the other room. I think Kyler is really cute in this video trying to help Radley!
