Light Night

Some of our friends helped to organize and plan a fall festival type activity for families to attend out in Samnorwood (a little community north of town here). There were so many games and other things for the kids to do. There was a hayride, hot dogs, and games galore!! It was a really fun night for everyone!

One of the many bean bag tosses
Throw the pizza in the box
One of the favorite games
Daddy playing with Radley
We had a lot of trouble with this game.
Damon couldn't even hold the club right.  We need to take these boys to a putt-putt course!
Radley's favorite game where you feed the elephant peanuts, and it sends candy out through it's trunk!
Digging around for horseshoes to get a prize!
Radley was a bit unsure at first, but he caught on pretty quick.
Kiss the pony to get candy!
Running around and wrestling with the boys.  Damon always let her wrestle him!
Busting out the Power Ranger moves!
Running as fast as she can to get away from the boys!
Kyler trying to do handstands and cartwheels to get a score of 10 (I totally make up a number every time.  He thinks I'm an actual judge or something).
Ready for the hay ride!
The stair-step of kids
Sorting through their candy haul.
These milk jug skeletons that Kenney made with Kyler got quite a bit of attention around town.  Several people at the hospital were talking to Kenny about them, and their kids started asking to save milk jugs to make some for their houses.
These are the bags the kids got at Light Night, haha!
Radley messing around at the store.

Halloween

There were a lot of Halloween festivities this year, as always! We started out by going to the movie theater. Then we had the church trunk-or-treat. There were also classroom parties. I was in charge of Damon's party, and I decided to do things a little different this year. All of last year's parties were just the kids eating and throwing away tons of food. I thought the kids would have a lot of fun if we played a few games. We had a bean bag toss, a game where the kids raced each other by blowing through a straw and moving a spider across the table, and a mummy wrapping game where the kids wrapped one another with toilet paper. There was also food, but the kids seemed to have a really good time.  Kyler's party was just food and way too much of it!!  I think the games make it more enjoyable for everyone and fewer people have to bring things!

On Saturday we went to a fall festival (see next post). On Halloween day we took them traditional trick-or-treating here around town. It was so much better this year because Radley was big enough to run up to the houses on his own. I could stay in the car with Bentley and Kenney drove.  One house was handing out $1 to each kid.  The boys were so excited and came out running, "We got money!"  "We got dollars!"
The Mighty Morphin Dinocharge Power Rangers
All dressed and ready to watch The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown at the movie theater.  They were so excited to wear their costumes for the first time.
The Blue Power Ranger (Damon)
The Pink Power Ranger (Bentley)
The Green Power Ranger (Kyler)
The Golden, not the gold, but golden, Power Ranger (Radley)
All of our trick-or-treaters going around in downtown Childress.  Radley was a little nervous going around at first, but the thought of getting candy warmed him up pretty quick!!  Bentley caught on by the end too and was holding out her bag to get candy, She was really cute.
Not the best picture, and the only one I got, but here are the kids trying to wrap each other as mummies in Damon's class.
Bentley grabbed the extra rolls of toilet paper before I had put them away.  Thank Bentley!  By the way this took less than 3 minutes (the entire mess, not just the toilet paper).  I can't believe how much destruction this little girl can cause.  She gets into EVERYTHING!!  Way more than the boys ever did!!

Of course I didn't get the best attempt she made at getting candy, but this is kind of close. One time she walked up holding the bag with her lips puckered saying, "Ooo, ooo."

Second attempt at getting a good video, but much like the video before she mostly just looks confused!

Here are the Power Rangers in action.  My favorite (not in this clip) is when Radley would say, "Dinocharge, Activate!"

Pumpkin Carving

This pumpkin carving stuff is exhausting!! I can't believe how much effort it takes, but the kids have so much fun so we keep doing it year after year!! Radley didn't have much interest beyond picking his picture out and posing by it outside. Damon was much more involved than ever before. He cleaned them out and tried to help with the actual carving. Kyler helped a little with the carving, but mostly just poked out the pieces once they were cut out. Bentley wandered around and got into the trash while we were busy, but had fun doing her own thing. My fingers are crossed that next year Bentley will won't be too interested and we can get away with just doing 3 one more time!!

Damon and I hard at work cleaning out these pumpkins.  I was really proud of Damon for getting his hands dirty and sticking with it.  He almost did it by himself.
Proof he touched the nasty stuff!
Kyler getting his hands minimally dirty!
Bentley not so sure about this pumpkin stuff.
Can you tell it was bedtime and she was over this stuff?
Pretty happy with their (mostly Dad's) creations.
1st Halloween!
Radley's traditional jack-o-lantern, Damon's spider, and Kyler's scary face..
I wanted to buy this pumpkin when we bought the others, but I settled for a picture instead.
Sadly or funny enough, this is what Radley's pumpkin looked like after a few days because it has been so hot!
Damon's school pictures were much improved this year.  However, I still LOVE last year's picture!!
Radley still waves bye to everyone in the morning, and I love it when he runs out like this with just his underwear and a jacket!!  Haha, it's so funny to see him standing there with no pants on a chilly morning, and don't worry there are plenty of people driving by seeing it too!

Family Pictures

The best we could get, but I'm pretty happy with it!
A Daddy and his girl.
Damon
The easiest way to get all of them!
Kyler
Radley
And of course what would family pictures be without tears???
A little Photoshop fun.  Papa Dude helped me learn a few tricks while he was here.
So much fun adding bits of pink!
Thankfully, as we were wrapping up, Damon slid down the slide and into a big puddle.  He was wet and embarrassed.
Kyler posing as he was trying to convince Damon it was ok.
And naturally, once you get your pants wet you can walk anymore, so he had to be "carried" back to the car!
