Spring Break Getaway

We didn't take a big trip for spring break, but we made a little escape to Dallas for two days.  We tried to see some cousins on the way, but their family was sick, so we stayed away.  We made the right choice there, apparently it was pretty bad!

We went to a trampoline park, stayed in a hotel, ate out, and took the kids go-cart racing.  It was a perfect little get-away for us.  The kids had a great time, and it was fun watching them experience new things.

Trampoline Park

She was having a great time
But lest you think it was all fun and games, there were some typical toddler tears too!
A bunch of monkeys!

They were having a great time dunking the ball and wanted all the videos in slow motion.

More SloMo

Dodge ball was pretty entertaining to watch.  There was one kid there that was a huge target and our kids tried to help him, but at one point he just flipped off the other kids that were bothering him, haha!  Mackenzie held her own pretty well out there too!

There were a lot of kids jumping!!

Go Kart Racing

We knew the kids would really like to race some go karts, so we found a place.  The kids LOVED it, Damon especially!  It was a lot of fun to watch them ride and drive.  I didn't get many pictures of Radley because he rode with Kenney and I was in line while he was riding and I was too far away.  He had a good time too.

At the hotel, someone had a water jet that pulled you through the water, and he let the kids use it and take turns.  It was a cool experience for them!

Kyler's 12th Birthday

Kyler is a pretty easy kid to please. It's crazy to think he's 12 and is growing up so fast. He's hoping by the end of junior high to be taller than me! if Kyler wants to do anything he just has to set down long enough to figure it out and he can do it. He is amazingly talented and a great friend. He has friends with varied interests and can relate to everyone in someway. All his teachers adore him, and he loves to learn new things.  His siblings all get along with him, and he has a special bond with Mackenzie that so fun to watch.

He asked for an Eye of Sauron cake from Lord of the Rings. He was happy with it, and anyone who knew Lord of the Rings recognized it. We had a few friends over before spring break began and of course they played with Nerf guns.

Elementary Talent Show

Damon and Bentley both participated in the Elementary Talent Show.  I never thought Bentley would do it, but she danced all by herself while her friend Rafe played the piano!  I couldn't believe she actually did it!  Damon told some jokes and did a dance with the entire 5th grade.  The kids had a great time.  This year they gave prizes, and they all came home saying that if they had given prizes last year Kyler would have won for sure

Damon had some help from Papa Dude with his jokes, and they were a hit!  The kids loved them!

I'm not sure who the choreographer was for this routine, but she nailed it, haha!!

She did great!  I am still shocked she got up there in front of everyone.  I wasn't quite the stage mom my friend was, lol!

Bentley's Glasses

Bentely mentioned that she was having trouble seeing certain things at school.  The nurse checked her eyes and suggested that we get her eyes checked.  Turns out her eyes are just slightly nearsighted, and she should grow out of it.

She told some girls at school that she was going to the eye doctor, and one of the girls told her she wouldn't look as pretty if she had to wear glasses.  She was so worried going to get her eyes checked.  I couldn't tell if it was just because it was a new experience or if she was worried about how she would look. Either way, it was pretty sad.  She ended up getting the cutest pink glasses that same day, and then I ordered 5 other cheap pairs online so she could have fun using glasses as an accessories to her outfits.  Bentley loves her glasses and does in fact use them as an accessory!!  She strategically picks her glasses based on the clothes she wears.  I don't think anyone has ever said anything negative about them again, but she has confidence wearing glasses!

These are the glasses we brought home
She had to get her eyes dilated to make sure they got the correct prescription.
Her pupils were so big!!
Some of the others she tried on

Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader & Basketball Ending

Nanny and the kids
The kindergarteners dressed up for "what do you want to be when you grow up" day, and Bentley chose a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader!!  Wow! Not quite what parents wants their daughters aspirations to be, haha!!
That skirt is a size 3T from Mackenzie's closet.  Bentley is still so thin. Hopefully this is a stage like my boys thinking they will be professional athletes.
The days of Braum's ice cream are coming to a close with basketball ending its season, but she got one last good cone!!
She never forgets ice cream either.
That's some impressive hair!
These boys were one of the only ones to play in the Altus tournament from Wellington, and they fought hard and played so well together!  They were the younger group this year, but played awesome!

Kenney took the girls to ride around.  They love the time they get with their dad.
