Big Boy Beds

Kyler and Damon have both been sleeping in new beds. Damon now sleeps in the crib during the day. He still wakes up too much at night for me to keep him in the same room as Kyler (What can I say, I need at least some sleep!) Since the new year began, Kyler has been out of the crib. We started out in the toddler bed, and it was great for the first few nights. Then he realized that he didn't have to stay in his bed and found freedom! He then began to get out of bed about 20 times per night before finally falling asleep. He then decided he needed to sleep in the full size bed that is in his room. He also falls out of both beds at least once per night. I have gotten up with Kyler in the middle of the night almost as much as Damon! Who needs sleep? Really, isn't it overrated?

So fast forward a few weeks and he has a lock on the door so he can't get out of his room; he has a nightlight; he has a rail on the big bed so he won't fall out; and he goes back and forth between both beds. Overall, I miss Kyler being in his crib more than I ever imagined. He now comes to my bed by 7:30 every morning. The days of 9:00 are long gone.

Our sweet little Damon always wakes up happy!

Kyler on his smaller big-boy bed. He refused to pose for me. Go figure!

Daddy fits nicely! Kyler now likes to take the pictures rather than have his picture taken

He loves to jump on the bed

Kyler tried to jump on Damon so Damon had to body slam him back!

It's quite pathetic that he needs a rail on a bed this size, but he falls off very easily. My mom can attest to this because she was crazy enough to let him sleep with her one night. I will never sleep in the same bed as him. He literally sleeps in every direction, every night.

We have been putting special shampoo on Damon's hair to get rid of his cradle cap and he looked pretty silly and was making funny faces.

Look at that cute little double chin and big blue eyes!!

This video is of Kyler watching his new favorite movie Toy Story. He loves Buzz Lightyear. During the movie, there is a scene when Buzz realizes that he is a toy and not a real space ranger. This is Kyler's reaction to that scene when his favorite character is sad and has a broken arm.

Damon's Baby Blessing

Right after Christmas my family came to visit. While they were here, we were able to have Damon blessed with some family from both sides. I really enjoyed having the blessing in our home. It felt great to have people come to our house just for Damon. The blessing itself was very special and I am so happy my boys have such an amazing dad. We all love him so much!

I absolutely LOVE crooked smiles!

Random Pictures

Most of these pictures were taken before the new year, but some of them are just too cute to not share! Oh how we love our boys!!

Oh so serious

Huh?
That's what this face says to me.

Playing is so exhausting

Our Trip Part II

The whole purpose of our trip was to go to Cary Shane and Diana's wedding. While we were trying to keep two kids warm and entertained outside the temple we again forgot to take any pictures of the bride and groom. Sorry. We were happy to be there for them and enjoyed being part of their special day. While they were taking wedding pictures, we were all inside taking family pictures. Below are the best pictures we have to-date of our growing family. We need to work a little harder and get some better pictures!

It's really hard to get a real smile out of Kyler these days so this is as good as it gets!

I love how Damon is looking at Kyler. He loves his big brother!

Papa & Nana with all 10 grandkids!
I thought it was hard to get a picture of our family. There weren't any 'good' ones with all the kids. I don't know if we even got one kid to look at the camera the whole time. Damon is smiling though.

Just the grandkids. Damon happy again!

After the wedding we went to Idaho to see some really good friends and amazing people we miss dearly living in Texas. Our time was really short there too, but we were happy just to have the chance to see some friends! We stayed with Scott and Sharon (our Idaho 'family') where Kyler played in the snow, we all ate tons of treats, and had an great time. They even watched the boys while we went on our first real date since Damon was born. We also went to visit our friends, Wes and Mandy, who have a new addition to their family, Cambria. She is such a happy little girl who cried if Kenney or I tried to hold her. (In our defense, she won't even let her grandma hold her). It was awesome too see everyone and we were sad to leave so soon.

Kyler making sugar cookies with Mandy. He, of course, loved to eat the cookies more than make the cookies.

It was so funny to see Kyler all dressed up for the snow! It looked like it was hard for him to walk. He wasn't quite sure what to do with the snow. He had fun until he decided he didn't want to wear his mittens anymore and got his hands cold.

Sadly we had to come back home. We were able to spend a little more time with Kristen and Korinne on our way home. The drive home on Christmas Eve and Christmas day was not ideal, but the boys did really well considering we were in the car for close to 30 hours in one week! Thank you to everyone that took care of us while we were gone!

Our Trip Part I

We recently made a very LONG trip to Utah and Idaho for Kenney's brother's wedding. The first part of our trip was to Colorado where we stayed with the Spencer's. The boys did really well in the car during the first leg of the trip. Oma and Papa Dude got the boys a DVD player for the car (I really think it was a present for Kenney and I more than the boys).

Kyler's favorite movie is The Incredibles; it's the only one he will watch all the way through. He thought it was the coolest thing to watch The Incredibles in the car. He didn't say one word the first time he watched it! Eventually he started telling me he wanted to watch a movie by saying "Watch, no no. Watch, no no." He then would grab his feet. I finally realized that he was was saying "no no" because I kept telling him not to touch the DVD player with his feet. It was pretty funny!
In Colorado it was really nice to spend time with really good friends and not do anything. Kyler was able to see some horses and play with Kristen and Korinne. I'm sad that I didn't get any pictures with them.

In Utah we were able to visit with family! Unfortunately, we did not have a lot of time so we tried to squeeze in as many people as possible. We stayed with the Davis' where Grandma and my brothers were able to come see us from Montana. Kyler had a great time playing with all the boys and marbles, trains, and cars. He played every second that he could. The boys even got some early Christmas presents.

Kyler with Grandma eating a snowball. Kyler loves to eat ice so a snowball was right up his alley. Every time he wanted more snow, he would find Grandma and make her take him outside to get one. Only she could do it!

Logan was super sweet with Kyler. He even gave Kyler that stuffed reindeer.

Me and ALL the boys!

We had a great time in Utah and wished we could have seen more people, but it was still fun. Thank you Davis Family for letting us stay with all of you. I didn't get any pictures with them either, but we love them too!

This was taken before we left, but I thought it was funny. The 'green hair' was a ball before it was popped. Now it's a mullet!
