Kyler Basketball

Kyler had an amazing season this year!  He was so fun to watch because he has grown so much.  He no longer runs away from the ball and is not nearly as hesitant as he once was.  He is still a very timid player and rarely fouls, but he is quick enough his defense is great without a lot of aggression.  His coach told us at the beginning of the year, before games had started, that Kyler was probably the best player on his team.  I'm not sure if he's the best because his team is so well rounded, but he has made huge improvements.

His team did really well this year too.  They were an older team which was a huge advantage, but their team is just solid.  They are so much more calm and levelheaded compared to Damon's volatile team.  They play super well as a team and seem to really enjoy playing.  It's a great dynamic for Kyler to be a part of.  They had a really tough loss at the end (which shouldn't have happened), but after playing for more than 20 games, we were all ready for it to be over!

They won the Childress League without a single loss!
Kyler with Josue, one of the neighbor kids that always at our house playing basketball.
Kyler and his good friend Jax.  These are two of the most dependable kids on the team.
The Altus league ended sorely, but these kids played great!

I was glad this one ended they way it did.  I wasn't sure how brother against brother was going to end!!

Kyler made 3 or more shots from this same spot during the first game against Damon's team. He continued to make shots like this the rest of the season.

He almost had an open layup.  He's not quite as fast when he dribbles, but that #2 was the fastest kid they ever played against.

He doesn't often get in there for rebounds, but if he would jump it would help, haha!!  He also dribbled the ball a lot more this year, even though he got fouled quite a bit.  Sorry for my annoying voice.  I don't like it when my sweet Kyler gets pushed around.

Kyler could chase down anyone on the court at any time, if he wanted to.  I don't think he has realized how fast he is.  It doesn't take much effort and Kyler can get in front of anyone.  Several people mentioned how deciving his speed is.

Their team got really good at this shot.  So many other teams played a zone defense and left them wide open for the corner shot.  Kyler was one of three kids that made several of these shots!
