Kyler's Footbal

We officially have a kid in junior high sports!!  And for the first time, we have a kid playing real football., not just backyard ball with cousins and friends.  The first couple weeks of practice were difficult because Kyler was really not taught his position very well.  Thankfully, he has a dad that is super patient and willing to help him.  Kenney took him out and showed him what his position was and what his responsibilities would be.  They watched some videos and talked about how to play his offensive and defensive positions a cornerback and tight end.

Kyler had a great defensive first game, which really surprised him.  He wasn't given many chances whatsoever on offensive, but he always did his job and had a lot of good blocks.  He also never had a touchdown scored on his side of the field the entire season.  It was a growing year, and he learned a lot.  We were really proud of him and loved watching him play.

The season lasted through the beginning of November, but I posted the entire season here.

Super happy after his first game because he got an amazing interception (almost a pick 6), and he caused a fumble!  It was so fun to watch!
We love #40!!
Some of us liked watching the game more than others, but the girls were pretty good sports for going to so many games.  They often had to go to the bathroom during the 40ish minutes of the game, but we were there to support him.
Oma and Papa Dude made it to most of his games too!  Glad they were there for one of his best games.
Nana & Papa came to one game too.
Love this kid and proud of him for pushing through even though it was hard for him.
Catching a two-point conversion
Saving a touchdown from being scored.
Damon made sure to be at every game he could.  All of us missed one game, but Damon loved watching Kyler and cheered him on from the sidelines.  He's so excited to play himself.

Kyler caused a fumble.  He tipped it out of the guy's hands.

One of the few times I didn't have the camera going, Kyler gets an interception!!  Thankfully, one of the other moms got it.  There may have been a few tears shed when he made this play (by his dad) because he was so stinking excited for him!  Everyone was so excited for him.

From this angle you can see that the kid that ran Kyler down had about a 10 yard head start and was the best player on their team.

These are clips from the game film

So close!!

For a little guy he still attempted so many tackles

Kyler didn't have mass on his side, so he used physics!!

Of course the one game we couldn't go to (we attended a dinner recognizing the people that funded the new PT facility), Kyler scored a touchdown!  We were so excited for him.  I wish they would have given him more opportunities and threw the ball more, but at least he had a few shining moments!

Highlights from the game we missed.  Kenney would sit down with him after every game and give him pointers, but he would also encourage and point out all the positive things he did.  Kenney kept him going through the season.

I wish they would have done these plays in the open field so he could have run away from everyone, but I guess we'll have to take the 2-pt conversions they let him have.

He did great!!

Solo tackle baby!!  (I may have clipped out the part where he let the guy get behind him and Kyler had to run him down, but he didn't give up on the play and caught him before he scored!)
