Dallas to See Barney's Part II

On the evening of the next day we went to The Beach at Little Elm Park, and it was perfect! It really did feel like a beach with fire pits, beach volleyball, and real sand (apparently they truck it in). It was great for the kids and made me miss going to the real beach this summer. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows for dinner and let the kids play.

The next morning one of my old high school friend's drove to Shandi's house so we could catch up.  It had been a really long time since I had seen her, and it was good talking to her again.  Another storm came blowing in so we couldn't go to the park, but we needed to head out anyway.  The kids had so much fun and are already planning our next trip to Dallas!

Radley was concentrating really hard to not get his hot dog in the coals.  He did a really good job!
Kyler even took the time to roast 2 hot dogs for himself and then some marshmallows.
SassyPants herself stealing chairs.
Georgie couldn't decide if he liked the sand or the water more.
This kid was busy building all kinds of sand creations.
He really liked pulling people along on the boggieboard.
Bentely loved the water!

This was really a great place.  The closest thing we got to a beach all summer!
Chris couldn't find any firewood so we were stuck with coals.  It took longer, but it worked!
They even hung around and roasted marshmallows for s'mores.  We tired the Reese's Cup version and it was pretty good too.
The boys really wanted to play beach volleyball.  They did pretty well, but the courts filled up as the sun was going down.
The sand was a hit!

It was a great evening to be out.  The wind wasn't bad and it wasn't blistering hot!
They were swimming all over.
Kyler trying to make 'squishy' sand.
Radley swimming around.
Bentley hanging onto Damon, and he was loving it!

Bentley doing her super girly twirls in the water. It never ceases to amaze me how prissy she is most of the time.

George had a blast pulling Bentley through the water. She of course loved the ride! Shandi sent me the video so it's not the best quality, but you can still get the gist!
