The main office for the all the cabins was right on the Colorado River with all sorts of activities for everyone to enjoy. The kids loved being by the river because there was so much for them to do. There was a rope swing, a water trampoline, putt-putt golf, a swing set, water to swim around in, paddle-boarding, and sand volleyball. We spent 5 hours there the first day and another 3 or 4 the next day before heading home. The favorite activity seemed to be the rope swing, but they never got tired or bored of any of it. Bentley even fell asleep the first day for an hour!!
Rope Swing
As I mentioned, they loved the rope swing. The first day all the kids all had help from the dads giving them the rope back every time. The second day the kids all loved to get other people's 'returns.' It was kinda nice that they were pretty independent doing it by themselves. They all learned to keep their legs tucked tight so they could go further. Pretty much every time someone would take a turn another kid, usually Avery (haha), would yell, "Drop!" They were all worried someone wouldn't let go in time and get hurt.
Damon trying to get a hang of things.
Radley figuring it out.
Release...
Holding on
Splash
Drop...
Daddy getting him a good swing.
Falling sideways
Jace and Damon watching from the dock.
The Water Trampoline
Radley, Emma, and Carter jumping around.
Cary Shane and Shayla helping all the kids.
Kyler trying to climb up. I never even tried but was told it wasn't an easy feat!
Damon, Tyce, and Kyler had it all to themselves for a while.
Tyce was funny with his repeated belly flops to the side of the trampoline before falling in the water!
This looks much worse than it was, he didn't even cry.
These 3 had so much fun together the entire reunion.
Pretty view of the river.
Other Stuff
Our group watching the rope swing.
Getting a ride back to the cabin with Papa.
Had to get a picture of these two for my calendar since they share the same birthday and Keyan is never represented.
Bentley climbing around
Radley got a hole-in-one just like his Daddy.
Damon concentrating on getting that ball to go where he wanted it to go.
All three working on the same hole at the same time.
She golfed for a little bit but was pretty content just watching everyone.
Cary Shane and Diana had some fun games and activities planned for all of us. We played a candy bar game and everyone walked away with a full size candy bar. They had a cracker game where everyone tied a cracker to themselves and hung it in the back. We all had a wad of newspaper to try and whack break other people's crackers. The person with the biggest piece of cracker at the end won. I'm not sure if it's a good thing that our boys were so good at that game. Bentley however refused to have a cracker tied to her and chose to at hers instead.
One night they turned on some songs and let the kids dance. We have a couple videos of that. The kids were entertained one night with a movie and snacks (or the older ones swam and played pool). While they were doing that, the adults played some Minute-to-Win-it games. They split us up into different teams, separating couples. Thankfully Kenney and I got along pretty well (we tend to get a bit competitive and do better on the same team, haha). We had a 3-way tie at the end, and Kenney's team won the tie breaker. However we all had fun and there were only a few minor disagreements.
Taysom all ready with his cracker.
Damon guarding his cracker so it didn't get broken too early.
Getting ready to hit everyone in the butt!!
Madness with youngest kids.
Damon and Luke both on a mission.
Brother on brother
Still going at it
Damon was called the winner because his cracker was the biggest at the end.
Bigger kids going at it next.
Making the circle smaller so they wouldn't have as much space to get away.
Tyce and Kyler fighting at the end.
They called this one a tie with Kyler and Tyce the only ones left.
Lots of kids dancing around.
Jax asked Kenney to film him dancing. This is what he got, haha!!!!
This year's Keys family reunion was in Burnet, TX right on the Colorado River. We had 2 cabins to split between 21 kids and 17 adults. It was a really nice place with a fully stocked kitchen, a game room with a pool table, a pool and hot tub, grills, and great AC (it was cold for most of us)!! We were in a room with Brock and Shayla's family. The only downside to our family's accommodations was the fact that Kenney and I were on a pull out couch bed. It was only two nights so it was definitely not a huge deal. The kids wasted no time and wanted to be in the pool as soon as we got there. The kids stayed busy the entire time with all their cousins around. Of course they felt like there wasn't enough time to be with everyone. But we all had a great time being together and seeing everyone. Some of the party followed us back home to Childress so they kids played a few more times with some of the cousins.
The kids all took turns doing tricks in the pool. Here's Tyce's cannon ball.
Adorable little Landry
She was loving the water.
Not so sure of all the strangers that think they knew her!!
Love this one of Tyce!
These boys are always hanging out.
Radley's face, hahaha!!
Trying to keep that scar covered with a hat proved to be very difficult!!
Damon's cannon ball
Bentely getting thrown in by Daddy. She loves playing with Daddy.
I love their facial expressions in this picture!!
Radley almost has this swimming thing down. He just needs confidence now!
Family Pictures
Kenney and the boys' favorite part of every reunion!!! NOT! However they were over with pretty quick this year and we didn't take them super serious by getting all dressed up or anything, hence our appearance!!
The entire Keys Krew except for Diana who was taking the picture and Kevin Schade who couldn't make it to the reunion.
We knew there wouldn't be traditional birthday celebrations for Radley this year since we would be at Nanny's so we decided to head to Chuck E Cheese with everyone to party!! Of course the kids were beyond excited and loved it. Nanny came with us and we met Aunt Darla and Kelli there. Kyler and Damon roamed free and played games on their own while Kenney stayed with Radley and I stayed with Bentley. We didn't get many pictures of the big boys because they weren't with us, but they loved the basketball games and the games to win lots of tickets.
By the end, the kids had gotten over 500 tickets!! Not bad for an hour. Of course they got cheap toys and candy with their tickets, but it made them happy. We then went out to eat for dinner with everyone. We do cake and ice cream birthday stuff, but I think he was pretty content!
These are my favorite things from Chuck E Cheese!
All smiles after playing.
So much for looking at the camera that was printing our picture. She was just cheesing for Daddy.
These boys are getting so big and independent!
Shooting the big guns.
She was actually pretty good at the games. I was impressed.
She really liked this simulation game. She rode it 4 times in a row; I didn't!!
She liked it so much she rode it with strangers!!
Radley was hilarious playing skeet ball. He had to do several arm pumps before he would release the ball!
Bentley caught on really quick to most of the games. However, if she was bored she would just walk away in the middle of it.
