Wellington Rodeo

We were able to go to the Wellington Rodeo with Keyan, Kelli, and Jaylen.  It was a lot of fun to watch!  Kelli even convinced me to get out there for the calf scramble!  The fireworks were pretty good too.  I didn't take many pictures, but we had a great time and watched one of the best bull rides we'd ever seen!

Damon was the first one to the calf, but wasn't able to grab the ribbon, and almost made it across the arena to the other one in time but didn't quite make it.

I almost had it too Damon!!

Summer Jobs

The boys all took the opportunity to earn some money this summer.  They all found jobs, mostly yard work, to do around town.  They have all learned to be very hard workers and have learned about managing their money too!  Kyler and Damon were able to keep and maintain about 3 consistent yards and random other jobs here and there.  Radley watered a lot of flowers and plants for people going out of town.

They did some nice work, and their dad was great about using his time and tools to help them.

Radley Turns 10!!!

Our sweet Radley turned 10 this year! As usual he didn't have many requests and kept it simple.  He had some friends over and had a good time!  We sure love this kid and how great he is!

Matador Tornado

An F3 tornado ripped through the town of Matador causing a lot of damage.  The weekend after it happened, Kenney took the boys to help clean up. It was 108 degrees the day they went to help so it was a big sacrifice and not great conditions to work in.  The boys never complained and did a great job!

Brazil Day

Our Summer of travels continued with a visit to Brazil.  We did some fun things and ate some really tasty food.  We learned about rainforests and made rain sticks.  We watched videos of Carnival and made some masks.  It was too hot to play soccer so we decided to go swimming instead. We learned a little bit of the samba and finished the night with some traditional food and the movie Rio.  I'm still surprised the kids love this tradition as much as they do.  It's been a great learning experience for all of us.
