Mackenzie Turns 2

Our baby girl is 2 now! She still doesn't talk much but is finally at least trying to say some words. She is very passionate and communicates very effectively with such a liminted vocabulary. You know exactly where she stands on most things!! She is super active and NEVER sits still. She loves all things Christmas and Frozen. Anna and Elsa are her favorite. She knows each of her siblings and can get them to do pretty much anything she wants them to do. She still loves Mom the most and never leaves my side, but she gets incredibly excited every time Dad walks in the door. We got rid of our highchair, and it was really strange because we've had one for over 10 years. We are moving past the baby stage of life, so it's weird. Mackenzie is a bright spot for all of us and can make us all smile and laugh. She is one very loved little girl!
When asked how old she is this is what she does.  It needs a little work, haha.
Yeah she's not quite 5 yet...
I made a pink cake because it will probably be the only pink cake I ever get to make for me girls.  Bentley has always preferred purple, and I don't think Mackenzie will like either pink or purple.
She was still a little shy when she noticed that everyone was looking at her, but she wanted to open the presents even more.
We didn't quite get a big smile, but at least she wasn't crying.
Very curious about the candles.
She did great blowing out the candles!

She took time to appreicate every present she opened.  I think the other kids were much more excited about her opening all the presents as fast as she could.

Next time I need to make sure I don't let the banner sag quite so much, oops!

SNOW!!!

Sunday morning we woke up to this beautiful snow covered ground, with snow still falling. It was perfect. It was the best kind of snow and lots of it, with big flakes and perfect for snowballs.  Kenney usually isn't home when the kids go play in the snow, so having him home made it so much more fun. They had snowball fights, made snowmen, ate so much snow, played with Acey, and loved every second of it. Well, except for Mackenzie. She refused to put on gloves and got cold pretty quick. We spent most of the morning watching them all play through the windows with Chrismas music playing. It was great! It worked out really well that we do home church too because then we were able to adjust church to whenever we wanted.

Snowball fights are so much more fun with Dad involved!

She didn't want to listen to any rational reasoning and just choose to scream!!

Manger Scene

We have been talking about doing more for outdoor Christmas decorations for a while. We also knew we wanted them more centered around Christ than Santa. After seeing some Halloween decorations some friends had, we decided we wanted to get a projector and show some church vidoes about Christ in the huge windows of our living room. We used an FM transmitter to allow people to hear the sound in their car and watch as many of the videos as they liked. We also thought we needed some day time decorations. Kenney then built a manger scene. Kenney did 99% of the work, but he did an amazing job! It turned out really well and seemed to be recieved well by memebers of the community. Next year we just need some better lights on the hosue, which we tried to get, but everywhere was sold out!
We even had a star that lit up at night hanging over the manger.

Beginning of December

Santa came to the pep rally!  The football team made it to semi-finals, but the quarterback broke his finger so the game didn't go to well.
Sassy on point!
Kyler won the yearbook cover contest!  He drew this all by himself.  He was chosen as one of the top three and then all the students voted.  He won!  Notice the mask and the hand sanitizer.
This is the back
Damon bought himself a present when we went shopping.  He built this Lego Cowboys helmet with a little bit of Dad's help.
Needed her sleeping mask to get to sleep!

Mackenzie is pretty clear about her intentions without actually saying the word NO!  This is how she tells the boys no these days, and it's really funny!

Mackenzie found all kinds of toys she liked when we went shopping.

Mackenzie loves reading books.  Bentley does a pretty good job of reading to her.  Frozen is one of her favorite topics!!

We can't get Mackenzie to say the kids names, but she definetly recognizes them.  She always gets excited when she sees them run to the car after school.  Here she is squishing Radley with the van door!!

Damon always wants and begs for friends to come over.  I agreed to let him invite some boys over to watch the new movie Safety.  We had some snacks and treats and a house full of boys.  Kyler and Radley each invited a friend too, so we ended up having around 10 boys in the house.  This is what happened after the movie was over.  It was complete chaos!!

Christmas with Nana & Papa

We usually do Christmas with Nana & Papa around Thanksgiving, but this year we did it before Thanksgiving!! It was really odd, but she wanted as many people as possible to be at her house. Shayla and kids were there before Thanksgiving along with Kaden & Grace and Kacy & Coby, so we did it then.  The kids didn't seem to mind one bit!
Bentley took her role as the star very seriously.  The star needed to be directly over baby Jesus.
Lots of kids!!

She wouldn't stop with the star, haha
Nana got all the grandkids matching jammies for Christmas.  The kids all seemed to like them, except for Mackenzie.
Damon and Luke
Mackenzie was pretty shy with all the added people at Nana's house.
So sad...

Mackenzie really didn't want to wear those pajamas.  Even after we came home she refused to let us put them on her again.  She was traumatized!!

Kyler and Tyce came up with a handshake.  I didn't get the first part of it.
