Radley made the decision to be baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was a day he had been anticipating for a long time. He was just a little nervous, but mostly excited. I didn't get a picture of all the family and support he had, but there were a lot of people there to support him. We were even able to use Zoom to allow family members that were far away to be a part of it.
So proud of him and the choice he made. He was so happy!
I love him so much!
It was so fun to have Grandma fly out to join us! We loved being able to spend time with her, even if she couldn't stay for very long.
Yes Mackenzie was there too, she just wasn't being cooperative.
I loved how his baptism invitation turned out. Papa Dude was a big help.
Such a cute kid!
Bentley joined our photo shoot too.
I think she liked looking at her shadow
Can't miss an opportunity to cheer!
Grandma brought a fun game with her, but I think Damon was the only one that thought it was fun.
The girls were super weary after they saw the boys eat a few nasty ones, and Bentley got one that was gross and started crying. She pretty much refused to play after that.
Radley wasn't a huge fan, haha!
Kyler only took one turn and didn't want to do it again!
Damon tried to figure out ways around getting a gross one. He really liked this game.
We made it to the Wellington Rodeo for the first time since moving here this year, and it was a blast. The first night we went with Keyan and Kelli and the Barlows. It was so fun! The events were fun to watch, the music was fun, the kids saw friends, it was just great! The boys did the calf scramble and loved it.
On July 3rd when we did most of our celebrations, it started raining around 4:00. They announced the rodeo would be free so we headed back up there with the Barneys and Oma & Papa Dude. It was a mud hole just getting into the stands and the arena was a mess!! I was surprised they went on with it. It made the events more entertaining. I thought for sure they would cancel the calf scramble, but they enticed all those kids to get out there. This time Bentley wanted to do it, and of course she was wearing a white dress. Damon knew what to do this time and was super quick, pulling the first ribbon!! The mud wasn't too bad until the announcer decided to tell all the kids they could get a free candy bar at the concession stand if they jumped into the mud puddle! UGH!! Radley wasn't with us this time, but we had Rafe. Even though it was a pain, the kids had a great time, and I'm glad they were able to do it.
Glad we live in a place that celebrates and honors the country we live in without hesitation.
Bareback riding
We had a great time!
First night it was dirt, I had no idea that would be so 'clean' compared to what was ahead!
First time Kyler had ever gotten on a horse. We need to get them on a ride sometime soon.
It was so so muddy!
They were so nasty, haha. We had to throw Bentley's white dress away
I guess it was worth it!
That candy sure made them happy!!
Lots of nasty feet after running around in the mud, even though they had all been hosed off
She was so tired she fell asleep during the rodeo with all the noise!! Oma & Papa Dude made a great bed
Fireworks!!!
All three boys made an attempt. You can see Damon the best (in a grey tank top and black shorts), and he gets really close. The other big kids were probably a little too old, but the boys still had a good time and made some memories.
Bronc riding in the mud!
Not all the sheep were willing to run in the mud, but this one did. This kid rode really well!
Oh man there was so much mud, but Damon came away victorious this time!! They all had so much fun in the mud!!
I was not really happy about what followed after the calf scramble, but it's something none of us will ever forget! The kids all ended up winning because they all got candy! We ruined some clothes, but they had a blast. George was pretty much the only kid that didn't get in the mud. He told the rodeo clown, "My mom wouldn't want me to get in the mud." haha! He was right!
I had never seen the Red River flowing bank to bank, but with all the heavy and consistent rains throughout the summer it happened! Kenney wanted to make sure we got a video of it, so we turned around to get it.
We were told the water came all the way up to the bridge, but I never saw any pictures of that. It was cool to see that the Red River is actually a river every once in a while!
We had popsicles before the movie started waiting for it to get dark.
We never miss an occasion to play football with the Payne's.
Bentley needed some extra support from Brek, haha
It was dark enough; we didn't need the kids up until 11pm
What's a movie without popcorn?!?
It finally got dark enough.
Found a large and forgotten zucchini in the Barlow's garden.
"It's heavy!"
Mackenzie discovered she liked to mark on herself.
Nanny watching while we moved boxes out of the moving truck.
Or maybe she was directing.
Kyler built a lot of different safes out of Legos this summer. He made this one for all of his money. He also built a lot of vending machines that were pretty cool.
The drawing got a little intense one night while we thought she was asleep. She had it everywhere. I love how she's hiding her face in shame, haha
Mackenzie had her teeth cleaned for the first time and did amazing! Her and Bentley both started really young and did a great job. It's really weird how much our kids enjoy going to the dentist.
