Damon End of School

Damon had so many fun things at the end of the school year! He had a carnival party at the park with face painting, jump castles, horseshoes, sack races, Plinko, and many other games. There was more food and treats than you can imagine and tons of fun!! The day after his party was his track meet.  He has been looking forward to this for a while!  He loves to be the fastest and wants to beat everyone!!  Damon was so excited when we got to the track that he ran an 800m (2 lap) warmup!!  He's crazy!!  Somehow after all that 1/2 mile warm up, he still won several events!!  He also had awards in his classroom the last day of school!  He was so proud and got the Good Behavior Award.  His teacher loved him, and now he can't wait to start Kindergarten.

Sack races (Damon's on the far right)
She was a trooper even though it was pretty chilly for May.  We had go to back and get jackets for everyone!
"Look at my trick Mom!"
He loves to be the tag-a-long for all of his brothers' school stuff!
Becoming Batman!
One of my Super Heroes!
Long Jump.  He didn't really jump; he pretty much just skipped off, but this picture makes him look good!!
Doing the obstacle course as quickly as he could!
He was definitely showing off for this one.  I have never seen him throw a football this well or this far!!
All smiles after getting his awards!
Damon and his friend Hazel
The boys: Elvis, Damon, and Elijah
Cleaning up from the track meet.  He got 1st in 50, 2nd in 100, 2nd in obstacle course, 3rd in long jump and 1st in football throw!!
He had to get a picture with Bentley!
Damon's class.  They lost about 3 kids by the end of the year, but it was a great size for him.
Damon and Mrs. Davis

This is Damon running the 50m dash. We were amazed that he did so well considering his intense warmup and that these boys are a year older than him! (He's in lane 1)

This video shows Damon's personality so well! They sent the kids back to the starting line as soon as the 50 was over to do the 100. He knew he was losing and was not going to accept defeat! He was looking to the side and saw that he couldn't pass the kid right next to him, so he just cutoff the kid two lanes over! He got second, but he was officially out of gas crossing the finish line!

Damon's Baseball

Damon absolutely loved playing T-ball this year!! He was so excited for every practice and game. He had a great coach (not Daddy because he was already coaching another team) and great kids on his team. He played first base several times and in other positions he was always ready to attack the ball! When we went to the field the first time he looked around and said, "Yeah, I can hit it over the fence!" This kid does not lack confidence!! He loved running as fast as he could around the bases and just being out there!! It will be funny to watch him and Kyler together on the same team since they are so different!

Gettin' Ready!
Perfection!
Such concentration
Swing Batter
Ready to run!
How cute is he?!?
Almost caught it!
He knew to tag the bad every time he got the ball.  He only had to be told once, and he got it!
We need to work just a little on the throwing form!
Oops!!

Damon had the t-ball thing down pretty quick. He had a blast, and to top it all off, there were snacks at the end of the games!!

Kyler's Baseball

After playing basketball this year, Kyler was excited to play baseball. We had to decide if he should play T-ball or coach pitch (which is actually machine pitch). We thought he would get really bored playing t-ball since he could hit 8 out of 10 balls Kenney would pitch to him overhanded. We were happy when the first game came and hit the ball both times he got to bat. However, as the season went on, he got into a rut and was unable to hit the ball. Kenney tried several times before any games began to set up practices for the kids to hit off the machine but it rained EVERY time!! Then once the games started he knew his kids needed to practice hitting but again all his practices were cancelled due to weather. Before his last game, we went out as a family to practice hitting. Thankfully, he was able to get two hits in the last game (not quite as good as the first game, but he got on base)!! After the game was over, Kyler didn't care about hitting the ball because he was too upset that no one brought snacks to the game! We see where his priorities were the whole season!!

Daddy pitching.  I can't remember if he hit this one or not.
A perk to having your dad coach the team is that you get to pick your jersey first!  #1
I think he preferred to look for us watching him play rather than actually playing!
Getting ready for the hit!
When the game gets too slow he would often play with his hat.
Time to Hit!!
He looks so little
I think he was just pretending to throw the ball!
Watching big brother and wishing he was part of the team.
Happy to be outside
If he can't be out there playing with Kyler, he'll just follow Damon and climb the fence!

Kyler's best hit of the season I got on film, but the camera was focused on the fence rather than the field, so it is super blurry. However, I did get one hit!

Beginning of May

Just a few random pictures and things from this month. Bentley is growing and starting to move forward. The boys are crazy as ever, and we just try to keep up!!
Papa Loves Me - and so does everyone else!!
I laid Bentley down one day and saw a marker slightly out of her reach (or so I thought).  Well she grabbed that marker and pulled the lid off in a matter of seconds!  I couldn't believe her!
However, she loved the marker!
This poor little guy was not feeling very well one day, but couldn't not stand the thought of missing his favorite meal of the day.  He didn't take one bite, but he fell asleep on the stool!
We had a gender reveal party for Kevin and Kerry (Kenney's brother's family).  We found out with BLUE silly string and a BLUE cake!  It's a boy!  The party was a lot of fun and so was making the cake!
Damon helped me make a banner for the cake too.  We decided not to put his on the cake!!
Bentley with her cousin Gentry
I really appreciated this worksheet Kyler did at school.  It asked in the first 3 problems which picture showed how you can earn money (sweeping, doing dishes, vacuuming) rather than just being given the money, and in the bottom questions it asked which picture is something you need versus something you want (a sandwich vs a toy car and a yoyo vs a pear).  I didn't know they taught such things at school, but it made me happy!
This little girl has been sporting some pig tails lately!  I am severely hair challenged so this might be as good as it gets for a while, but look at that face!!  Just too cute!

Mother's Day Cards

We made some Mother's days presents this year, and the boys wrote some letters.  Here are some of the letters.  They all made me smile!  In the card I got, Kyler wrote, "I love the lunches you make, my favorite lunch."  I guess he does notice me making him a lunch everyday!
"deer Nanny, you let me go to mictonals" Interpretation: Dear Nanny, You let me go to McDonalds
"deer grama, i love you because you are nice to me" Interpretation: Dear Grandma, I love you because you are nice to me
"deer Oma, you let me play vedeo gams"
Interpretation: Dear Oma, you let me play video games
"NANNY LOBE DAMON"
Interpretation: Nanny, love Damon
"deer Nana I love you because you let me water the flowers"
"deer Nanny I love you Nanny because you give me a roll before lunch or dinner"
Interpretation: Nanny gives Kyler a hot roll before we eat together on Sundays.  I guess he likes that!

Just an ordinary day at the Keys house. Wild and crazy kids!!

Growing Growing

It's hard to believe how grown up our baby girl looks! She is sitting really well on her own. Occasionally, she'll still fall forward or back, but she sits really well. None of the boys have sat up this early which makes me nervous! And to top it off, Kenney laid her on her tummy the other day and she started digging into the carpet with her toes and moved forward about 3-4 feet!! NO NO NO!! She's not even 6 months old yet! I want her to stay stationary a little longer because I'm afraid she won't be as sunggly if she starts moving on her own!
Cute faced squishy little girl!
She is just too cute!!
Look at that chin!!  There is almost some chub on her, almost!
She is just getting so big!  No more little baby.
I love how she looks at her brothers, and don't get me started on Damon's smirk!!
Her hair is a mess, but look at her just sit there!
Love her little grin!
It's still hard to believe we have a girl!
So there is an ice cream truck in Wellington.  A sketchy, ghetto, scary looking ice cream truck that lives about 3 houses down the street.  We hear the truck pretty much every day between 5 and 6:30 pm (horrible time right before and during dinner).  The boys have begged for ice cream ever since we moved here.  I finally agreed, and they even used their own money to buy the neighbors an ice cream too!  It was a happy day in our house!
