Haley & Ty's Wedding

My sister Haley got married in San Diego the weekend we were in Alabama, so Shandi, Chris, George and I flew to the wedding from New Orleans Thursday afternoon. I was really hoping to take all the kids, but the dates just didn't work out. Kenney stayed behind at the beach for another day and a half and then drove to Dallas with all the kids to pick me up at the airport on Saturday and we all continued our drive home. It was a super quick trip with all kinds of excitement! However, it was really good to see so much of the family on my dad's side. The wedding was beautiful; Haley looked incredible and happy; I was exhausted, but really glad I went. Kenney may not have been quite so happy ;)

I didn't really get to spend much time with Ty, but he seemed super chill, his family was a lot of fun, and he makes Haley super happy so I'm thrilled for them!
Gorgeous!
We definitely should have done beach pictures at our wedding!
Sisters!!
First stop in SoCal!!
First time all the siblings have been together in quite a while!  Those boys are getting really tall, makes me feel quite normal!
Pretty bouquet
I hadn't been back to the San Diego temple since Kenney and I were married there almost 10 years to the day that Haley and Ty were married.  They even got sealed in the same room as us!  It made me really wish Kenney was there with me!
A girl and her brothers.
A stop at Robertos before the reception! (Note this was right before George split a tiny cup of hot sauce all over himself and Shandi.  It got EVERYWHERE!!)
Mouthwatering yummyness!  Seriously not impressive to look at, but so good!
The bridal room at the reception site.  In the back corner was a huge hanging bed that was super comfy.
The groom's room had plenty to keep them busy while they waited on the girls.
All the girls!
The table settings were beautiful.
We had a lot of fun with the photo booth!
Oh Taylor!!

Dauphin Island: Family Pictures

It wouldn't be a family gathering without pictures! We even made tie dyed shirts for the occasion! Kyler and Damon didn't quite grasp the tie dyeing technique and tried to paint with the bottles of dye!

Silly pictures usually turn out the best!
A very realistic version of our family pictures!
As good as it was going to get.
All the grandkids... so cute!

Dauphin Island: Fishing Trip

Kenney, Chris, and Jason got up really early to go deep sea fishing. From what we were told, they really enjoyed it, and it was a successful trip. Everyone caught some fish, no one got sick, they made some friends and really had fun. Kenney didn't get a picture of any fish he caught, but I think he really loved it and would go again in a heartbeat!

This guy got the biggest catch of the day, a 36 pound red snapper.
Jason reeling in a big one!
Once they were headed back to shore, Kenney found the guys helping everyone asleep before the next group got on board!
The boat they took.
Jason's big catch, a 22 pound red snapper!  They had it filleted and we ate it that night.  We all thought it was good, the boys especially!

Here's a short video of Jason reeling in his fish.

Dauphin Island: The 4th of July

We had a blast celebrating the 4th of July at the beach! Oma and Papa Dude made some great food (brisket, potatoes, Gene's slaw, corn on the cob, etc) and we had snow cones! It was a perfect summer dinner. After dinner we went to the beach to do sparklers and watch fireworks. I can't tell you how many hundreds of sparklers we went through, but we all had fun with them. It was so nice to not have to fight crowds or traffic to watch fireworks. We just brought a blanket to sit on and walked back to the house. It was perfect!

Red, white and blue!!  Oma made Bentley this dress and she LOVES it!!

Kyler really loved the sparklers this year!
She's getting a little too old for this trick, but she loved trying.
"Catch me Papa Dude!"
The sparklers still make Radley a little nervous!

Dancing with fire!
The little ones got some glow sticks to play with.  We thought that would be safer!!
Watching the big show!
They weren't the most spectacular fireworks, but still entertaining to watch!
Getting a little more brave with one in each hand.
Bentley wasn't too sure about the fireworks.
