Damon's 7th Birthday

Damon is 7!!!! So amazing how fast (and slow at times) that has gone! My tiniest baby is now over 4 feet tall! He is still as crazy and competitive as ever, but he is also the most tenderhearted kid we have. We are loving watching him grow up and can't wait to see what he will become!
He has been waiting and waiting for this day!
Everyone was excited to celebrate Damon!
He was so sweet to let Bentley sit right on his lap in the center.
Blow out those candles!!
Kyler got a new bike along with Damon, and they have been riding them a lot.
My attempt at a Pikachu cake.  It's not the best, but close enough to make him happy!
He got to play football with his cousins, Kaden, and Kacy.  His day was made.

Touchdown!

I love this video.  Damon is excited, but I love how happy Bentley is for Damon clapping and everything!!  Those two have a special bond that is so sweet to witness.

Dallas to See Barney's Part II

On the evening of the next day we went to The Beach at Little Elm Park, and it was perfect! It really did feel like a beach with fire pits, beach volleyball, and real sand (apparently they truck it in). It was great for the kids and made me miss going to the real beach this summer. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows for dinner and let the kids play.

The next morning one of my old high school friend's drove to Shandi's house so we could catch up.  It had been a really long time since I had seen her, and it was good talking to her again.  Another storm came blowing in so we couldn't go to the park, but we needed to head out anyway.  The kids had so much fun and are already planning our next trip to Dallas!

Radley was concentrating really hard to not get his hot dog in the coals.  He did a really good job!
Kyler even took the time to roast 2 hot dogs for himself and then some marshmallows.
SassyPants herself stealing chairs.
Georgie couldn't decide if he liked the sand or the water more.
This kid was busy building all kinds of sand creations.
He really liked pulling people along on the boggieboard.
Bentely loved the water!

This was really a great place.  The closest thing we got to a beach all summer!
Chris couldn't find any firewood so we were stuck with coals.  It took longer, but it worked!
They even hung around and roasted marshmallows for s'mores.  We tired the Reese's Cup version and it was pretty good too.
The boys really wanted to play beach volleyball.  They did pretty well, but the courts filled up as the sun was going down.
The sand was a hit!

It was a great evening to be out.  The wind wasn't bad and it wasn't blistering hot!
They were swimming all over.
Kyler trying to make 'squishy' sand.
Radley swimming around.
Bentley hanging onto Damon, and he was loving it!

Bentley doing her super girly twirls in the water. It never ceases to amaze me how prissy she is most of the time.

George had a blast pulling Bentley through the water. She of course loved the ride! Shandi sent me the video so it's not the best quality, but you can still get the gist!

Dallas to See Barney's Part I

We had planned to go to Dallas in the middle of June, but Radley split his head open the day before we were going to leave. Between all of our schedules, this ended up being the best time for us to come before school started, and it was great! We stayed busy the entire time. As soon as we got there we headed to the pool and ate dinner there. We came back to the house and got spoiled with snow cones and bedtime books in a tepee. The next day was super packed with a trampoline park, In-N-Out, and beach front lake (see next post). We had a great time, and the boys are begging to go back to Dallas!
Splashing in the kiddie pool.
It was starting to get cloudy at this point and not too long after we had to leave the pool because a storm came blowing in.
These two actually got along this time!
They are quite funny together.
Snow cones were a super big hit!!
Georgie was so happy to have some cousins around!
Love this pic!!
Their normal faces...
Oh wait is this their normal???
I may have passed on a little bit of my love for In-N-Out to them.
Not Bentley's best pic, but they really like reading in the tent.  Radley wasn't sure if he was a big kid this trip or one of the little guys.  He sure liked the bubble bath and storytime!!
Proof that they didn't fight the whole time.

The kids LOVED the trampoline park!  They all stayed busy and entertained the entire time!!

This was Bentley when she first got on the trampolines.  She was having a blast!

All the kids, but especially the little ones, liked the foam pit.

Radley had some cool moves during the dodgeball game.  Of course once he saw me the moves weren't quite as good, but he was still doing his own thing while ball were being thrown all around him!

Damon trying to master the front flip.

Kyler's attempt too!

Bentley was not going to be out done by the boys.  She tried the flip too!!

I think George was glad that he recognized some of the bigger kids (aka his cousins).  He liked playing around with them.
Bentley had to climb to the far back of the pit.  Thankfully she got herself back without help.

Visit to the Payne's

A visit to San Antonio has been long over due, but we finally made at the end of the summer!! It's always so fun and easy to go visit the Paynes. All of us have a friend we love being around, and it's great! There were a few fights among siblings, but for the most part, the kids all played with hardly any interactions with adults. We didn't do any of the typical San Antonio things like the Riverwalk or the Almo even though Kenney and the kids had never been; we just played! It was perfect. We went swimming; we went to Brock's school and played on the fields and in the field house; we ate yummy food; the kids played games, rode bikes, traded Pokemon, danced, and who knows what else at the house. Kenney and I even snuck away to get a smoothie from Jamba Juice.

She's independent in the pool and it's so nice!  Obviously she doesn't swim yet, but not having to hold her is nice!
Playing with Uncle Brock, whom Bentley quickly wrapped around her little finger!
Oh Damon!
So bright outside!
Hahaha, Radley wiping his face!
All the kids in the little 1 foot deep pool splashing around!
Love these kids and so happy they love each other so much!
But this is how they usually are with one another!

Bentley got herself all ready to go with any accessory she could find.  Her purse was in the diaper bag or else I'm sure it would have been with her too!  She was so excited to go in the 'girl' car.

Figuring out how to play on the workout equipment.
Lots of kids everywhere.
He built this tower to sit on the top.

Getting ready to start the race.
She loved keeping up with the big kids.

Here are a few videos we took of the kids doing some of the obstacle course Brock set up in the field house.

1st Course Kyler, Damon, Tyce, and Luke.  Damon didn't take the tackling as serious as others so he finished super quick.  He was more focused on the speed.

1st Course Bentley, Radley, Bruce, & Brek

2nd Course was timed.  Bentley didn't have the best time, but she sure had enthusiasm!!

Radley had some great form at the end!!

Damon was all about going as fast as he could!

After the field house games we headed out to the football field to play some games.

This girl is just too much sometimes!!

Here they are playing flag pull (the name they came up with).

Bentley got in on the action this time.

The cement in front of the church was so bright!!
Good thing Bentley had her glasses!!!
A Jamba Juice 3 miles from their house... No way I wasn't going to get one!!
