We had one more opportunity to go to the WAV before it closed for the summer, and unfortunately Dad couldn't come with us. So I braved the 100+ temps and took them by myself. We survived and they all had a blast! Several of the boys' friends were there, so they were able to hang out with them. Radley was able to do almost everything this time. He tried to do the big slides and got rejected by one lifeguard. I sent him up later when one of the managers was at the top. He spiked up Radley's hair, made him stand on his toes, and finally just let him go down the much slower twisty blue slide, but told him he couldn't go down the fast red slide. MJ thankfully, took a 20 minute nap while I reapplied sunscreen on everyone. Overall, it was a very successful afternoon, and it was extremely exhausting!
Bentley and Damon swimming around.
Making sure her towel was just right
MJ was there too! She was behind the camera with me most of the day and loved being held for 5 straight hours.
Now that Radley can swim he tried so many new things. Here he is going down one of the big slides.
Floating around while I tried to take videos of the boys.
The first new thing Radley tried was the high dive. You can tell he was nervous, but he did great!!
Kyler started doing front flips off the high dive.
There weren't many people there when we first arrived. Really throughout the rest of the day not many people were there, so the kids rarely had to wait for anything.
Here's shaky video (thanks to Mackenzie) of Kyler going down the red slide. He's been scared to go down it because his whole body comes off the slide.
Here's another shot of Kyler on the slide. I never quite caught Damon, but he LOVES that slide and goes down over and over and over!
Amarillo
We had to go to Amarillo for Stake Conference because Kenney received a new calling at church. He will be a High Counselor and have to go to a lot of meetings. He's not too excited, but he will do amazing, as always. While we were there we ran a few errands and stayed in a hotel. I didn't get any pictures of the kids swimming there or camped out in the room watching TV, but they loved every second of being in the hotel!! It was such a treat for them. We also reaffirmed our dislike for sleeping in the same room as the kids; let's just say it was a long night without much sleeping for us anyway.
Home Depot, I tried so hard to get a picture of them all looking at me, but it never happened. Here are some of the attempts.
She was so happy to ride with the big kids!
Everyone looking except the baby...
She finally looks and of course one of the others isn't!!
We tried to convince the other kids that Damon had the biggest mouth, but they didn't believe us. So we took a picture and tried to prove it to them. Kyler still thinks his mouth will grow, fat chance of getting bigger than Damon!
This past weekend there were a lot of community activities for a celebration of The Texas Veteran Highway called Wild and Free on 83. 5 communities along the highway had 3 days worth of activities. Our kids were excited to be part of the bike parade. Kids showed up with decorated bikes to follow a golf-cart around the square downtown. We weren't sure if Bentley would be able to ride her scooter on the brick roads so we didn't let her participate. She didn't seem to mind. After the bike parade there was a pet show, turtle races and more. We walked around to different booths set up and played some games and got prizes. It was nice having a community get-together.
Our Bikers
They loved finding their friends join them. Here's Damon with his friend Cix.
This Cutie Pie was there watching!
Oh her too!!
Radley was having fun until his pedal came off. He was a sad little boy when that happened, but we found it and Dad put it back on for him to ride again!
Testing out the decorations the day before.
The boys thought it was hilarious that Mackenzie would try and suck on the end of their gun.
Helping set out school supplies!
Such a cute little helper!
This was the beginning of the bike parade. One (Radley) kid ran right into the golf-cart and another (luckily not ours) fell before the first turn. Overall, there weren't many accidents.
Here are some videos of the kids lately. It was so funny to watch how differently the 3 boys hula-hoop! Very different techniques. And just a couple of MJ
This is hilarious!! She has eaten all these foods before, but I guess after eating our dinner of 'real' food, she didn't want her nasty baby food with peas. Even the applesauce was a no-go. After I stopped recording, she stuck her fingers down her throat and spit up the rest, haha!
Kyler is a very calm hula-hooper with small motions to keep the hoop going. He went for about 5.5 minutes.
We had some weather in the 90's so we thought it would be the last time for a while that Kenney would be able to take the boys camping. It was a very last minute decision, and we didn't have much prepared. However, the boys didn't care and had a blast. After dinner, we all went out as a family to Pioneer Park to play in the water for a little bit before it got dark. Once Bentley was done in the water, all us girls went home. Bentley took it much better than I expected. She planned for us to watch a movie when we got home, but she fell asleep in the car!! Yay for me! I had a nice quiet evening to myself at home sleeping in my bed. The next morning, we brought cereal and milk to the boys for breakfast so all Kenney needed were a few snacks rather than packing and cooking meals.
He said the boys loved riding their bikes around the campsite and were super loud but had a great time. It took them forever to fall asleep, but they were up with the sun! They rode their bikes around again until we got there with food. Kenney said it was a rough night sleeping, but it made the boys happy. We played in the water for a little bit again and then went home. Overall, it was my kind of 'camping' and pretty low key. Next time the boys said they wanted Papa to come cook for them!
She loves splashing around in the water.
Everyone doing their own thing on a beautiful evening.
Building a pond for the minnows and sand diggers they were catching.
I guess Texas can be pretty in the summer
Hanging out in one tent while Dad took down the other.
Breakfast!!
Apparently this is how you reserve the pavilion!! Hahahaha!!
We picked up some landscaping stones while we were in Amarillo. This is before they were set in with the liner and everything.
After!! We think they look so good!
We've never really liked the placement of these trees, but the stones make it look a little more purposeful.
This girl is loving her bathes lately. She now tries to stand up all the time though.
Building castles at the library with a friend.
I pulled a Kenney and watched a YouTube video to learn how to do something new. I trimmed Bentley's hair, and it doesn't look half bad!! It's not close to professional, but it's good enough.
I love this video of MJ watching her siblings play with cars. She found something super hilarious and just laughed!!
She thinks she needs to eat at all times and LOVES her food! She thinks she starving before I give her a bite of our dinner.
Here she is again playing and laughing with Dad. This girl loves to laugh and loves to play! It is such a great sound!
One of the random videos I find on my phone all the time.
She has become quite the jumper. It's nice she'll play in this while we get some stuff done outside.
Kenney swears she is saying "Dada, Dada, Dada." I have to admit it's pretty close!!
Bentley playing baseball with the big boys!! I love how amazing her brothers are with her. They are so patient with her and get so excited for her too!
