Hanging Out at Home

We are not the most exciting family in the world, but somehow the boys find things to do around our tiny apartment.  They keep us entertained by the funny things they do and say.  It has been so nice to have Kyler wanting to play with Damon.  He will say, "Damon, let's go play in my room."  This is a new thing that is amazing.  Both the boys playing and having fun (most of the time), and they always make a HUGE mess.  I cherish this time even if it only lasts about 10 mins.  However, the last few days Kyler has been using that time to go poop in his pants.  I am trying to weigh the odds of two boys playing vs. cleaning dirty underwear!  These are just a few of the things I find the boys doing.

Damon climbed into the toy organizer.  I think the square he climbed into was at least two or three off the ground.

Basketball is almost always involved

It is hard to find a happy-medium goal height.  Damon needs it a little lower, and Kyler obviously needs it higher.

Kyler loves movies, but Damon is still not really interested.  Damon will lay down and get covered with a blanket to at least appear as if he is watching.

This is one of Kyler's first attempts as riding his new scooter he got for his birthday.  Kenney showed him how to use the break, and he sometimes gets too focused on using the break rather than watching where he was going.  He caught on really quickly and successfully used the break by the third time he tried.

Damon no longer stays in his bed :( I am not too happy about this new adventure in our lives. First, it scares me that he can and does climb out. Second, there is nothing to keep him in his bed. We have lowered the rail so it's not quite such a big drop, but it is amazing that he can do this.

Some funny things Kyler has said lately:

"Dang it"
(Yes that came from me, so now I have to be really careful with what I say)  The sad part is that he uses it correctly.

"Mommy, it's dirty.  Clean it up."
I had not had a chance to clean off the counters after making lunch because our water was turned off, so there were crumbs all over.  He climbed up on the counter and told me to clean it up!

"Ever"
He says this word with a lot of passion.  We are not quite sure what it means, but when he is angry or serious it is his final statement.

"My legs hurt. I too little."
He says this every time I ask him to cleanup or he needs something.  If he wants a drink, and I tell him to go get his cup, he will tell me he is too little or his legs hurt.

"ARRRGHH"
He does this to mimic me also.  Usually when I find a big mess I have to clean, I will say this.  So now Kyler does too.  He always does it after I do, but he also does it while he is playing or doing other things when he gets upset.

Kyler Turns 3

I can't believe Kyler is 3!!  Well, some days I think I have really only been a parent for 3 years?  It has to be longer than that, and then I think about how big Kyler is and how much he has grown.  It's crazy!!  This was the first year that Kyler really got excited about his birthday, and it was so much fun!
We love our Kyler Dude.  He is really into Superheros these days and loves Spiderman, Ironman, Captain America, the Hulk, and Thor.  We have multiple conversations everyday about them.  He loves to play outside, occasionally play with his brother, say funny things, use the iPad constantly, watch movies, sing songs, play matching games and games with letters, go to the park and storytime, and spend time with his Daddy!  Kyler is never boring and always up for an adventure!

He got a big package from Grandma and Grandpa Hill and was super excited when he found so many cool things, especially the Captain America stuff!

Here's our little Superhero

The punching bag was a huge hit too!

Kyler wanted ice cream cones for his birthday this year!  I was more happy about that than anyone.  I love ice cream, but even better than that was the fact that I didn't have to come up with some way to make a Spiderman or Batman cake.  I do not possess those kind of creative skills!

It takes a lot of concentration to show 3 fingers.  Every time someone would call and ask him how old he was, he had to hold up 3 fingers.  He is getting much better (and faster).

Ice cream everywhere!  He ate the entire cone.  I was pretty amazed, but I guess not really surprised!

Damon enjoyed his ice cream just as much.  He had it everywhere.  It was in his belly button, on his hair, under his chin, and everywhere in between.

Kyler was a little anxious to blow out the candles this year!  I think he blew them out 3 times.  I guess he's making up for years past!

A Visitor, a Blizzard & a Trip to the Park

I don't think I will ever stop being amazed by the weather in Texas. We can have all 4 seasons in one week! This past week we had a blizzard, and today it's 79 outside. How does that work? It was fun to have the snow, but it was too wet and windy to play in it so the boys just watched it from the window. Papa Dude also came to visit us and only brought a lighter jacket because there was no blizzard predicted when he left home. He came to do a presentation, and then the entire university shut down because of the weather. We were able to have Papa Dude and Daddy home for an extra day and a half. It worked out really well for me! Then yesterday with all the snow gone and weather in the 60's, we were at the park!
They said we got about 6 inches of snow.  Amarillo got 20 so we were pretty satisfied with our 6!  Poor Papa Dude got delayed going home with cancelled flights, but eventually made it.  The airline lost his luggage on the way here, so I would be surprised if he ever tries to come see us again!

This is a long video, but pretty funny to watch two little boys trying to catch a light.  I knew cats and other animals did this, but my children?  It kept them entertained for a while.  Kyler kept saying, "I got it!" every time that the light went off.  It was pretty funny to watch.

This is what we had to deal with every time we had to leave Papa Dude.  He spent two nights at a hotel, and then we took him to the airport.  After throwing a major fit in the car on the way back home each time Kyler was separated from Papa Dude eventually we just got this pathetic whining.  I completely forgot to take pictures with Papa Dude in them, but the boys LOVED having him here!

That little smile of success when he made it to the top!

Kyler's little ornery grin!

Peek-a-Boo

All the boys kicking around a ball.  Of course all the other boys at the park had to join in too.  I guess I am just meant to be surrounded by boys.

Why do boys always end up playing in the dirt?

Hold on Kyler!  He acutally held on pretty well, even when he started swing himself.

For some reason the ball helped to balance Damon on the slide.

The expression we get every time Damon wants to make sure we see something that is amazing to him.

Really, More Boys?!?

For those of you who are not aware baby BOY #3 is coming to our family in July (maybe June if I'm lucky)!!  Yes you heard correctly, 3 BOYS!!  I love my boys, but I don't know if I can handle anymore crazy!  I know 3 kids are going to be crazy regardless whether boy or girl, but I am terrified what 3 boys can do in our house and to our house.  Damon is especially crazy and fearless, so I am really scared what he may teach this new little boy.  I know our blog has not been updated as frequently in the last couple months, but I am finally starting to feel better.  Hopefully I will take more pictures and put up more posts.

I found these cute little Texas jerseys on super clearance the other day and thought the boys would like them.  I was not disappointed.  When Kyler saw them he said, "Football!"  So both boys had to strip down and put the jerseys on immediately.  Of course they hardly ever wear pants in this house, which I don't entirely understand.  They had fun playing football with Daddy!

Damon trying to hike the ball.  It was very hard for him to put both the ball and his head between his legs, so most of the time he just hiked it from one side.

Working on our catching skills

Kyler did actually catch this one

This was him saying, "See Mom, like this."

I take back what I said about having 3 boys.  I have 4 boys!!  I am very grateful for that everytime he comes home.  The boys LOVE having him around to play!

I guess we haven't gotten out as much as we should because of the weather and morning sickness, so the boys have found plenty of ways to entertain themselves!

Damon doesn't waste any time turning around and climbing down from things; he just jumps off everything!  I don't worry so much about Kyler, but Damon is jumping off things taller than he is.  He has no fear!

Damon's new favorite place to play is in the closet playing with the shoes.  It made me really nervous the first time I found him there because he was being extremely quiet, and that is usually not a very good sign.  I tried to get a picture but he kept closing his eyes!
Apparently he doesn't mind being a little squished!

Kyler then ruined the moment and had to squeeze in too!

Catching Up

So I know it has been a while since I updated the blog, so I am pretty much just going to do so with the pictures I have.   I didn't take any pictures while we were in Missouri, and I hardly took any on Christmas day, but at least there will be something to look at.  Hope everyone had some happy holidays and a good January.  Here's to doing better at blogging the rest of the year!!

Damon's name was being called to go sit on Santa's lap.  After Kyler freaked out right before this Damon decided he would have no part of Santa.  Otherwise, I think Damon would have been just fine.

Damon was so nervous that he didn't even want to take the present from Santa.  Once he realized that there was candy inside, he didn't have any trouble.

Three of Kenney's younger siblings (Kaden, Savanna & Keyan)
Damon dressing up as a wiseman for the Nativity.

What are you doing to me?  We don't play much dress up at our house unless it capes!

Kyler as Ironman, I mean a wiseman.  The only Nativity costume he would put on was this one because it was the same colors as Ironman.  He picked it up and said, "I want to be Ironman!"

We weren't quite sure what made his face look so fat, but it was pretty funny.

The best picture of our two little wisemen.

Pretty much our only picture of Christmas morning.  Trust me, no one is more disappointed that me.  It was cute to watch Damon get excited just because Kyler was excited.  He didn't understand anything that was going on, but he knew that something was happening.  Kyler's favorite part seemed to be passing out all the presents under the tree.  He loved running around.  He also thought everyone kept getting boxes as presents because his attention span for opening presents only lasted til the wrapping paper came off!

Damon loves the piano at Nana and Papa's house.  He is actually pretty good with it.  Although every time he plays he smashes his fingers when he covers the keys.  Nana was practicing a song she had a play when Damon climbed right up on the bench and started playing very softly next to her and swaying to the music.  It was really cute.

Kyler posing with is new underwear!  Potty training has officially began at our house.  It really hasn't been as bad as I thought it might be, but we definitely have room for improvement.  Kyler looks so grown-up in his underwear.  These little boxer-briefs are my favorite!  He has even more trouble keeping his pants up now.  I'm not sure what to do about that.

He had to show how moveable his underwear allow him to be.  I can't believe how old he looks now.  It's sad how fast he has grown.

Capes are the best!

Damon also had to strip his clothes off and join the running!

The boys are improving their jumping skills on the trampoline.  They love being outside, and the weather was pretty nice during the Christmas break.
