Beginning of May

Just a few random pictures and things from this month. Bentley is growing and starting to move forward. The boys are crazy as ever, and we just try to keep up!!
Papa Loves Me - and so does everyone else!!
I laid Bentley down one day and saw a marker slightly out of her reach (or so I thought).  Well she grabbed that marker and pulled the lid off in a matter of seconds!  I couldn't believe her!
However, she loved the marker!
This poor little guy was not feeling very well one day, but couldn't not stand the thought of missing his favorite meal of the day.  He didn't take one bite, but he fell asleep on the stool!
We had a gender reveal party for Kevin and Kerry (Kenney's brother's family).  We found out with BLUE silly string and a BLUE cake!  It's a boy!  The party was a lot of fun and so was making the cake!
Damon helped me make a banner for the cake too.  We decided not to put his on the cake!!
Bentley with her cousin Gentry
I really appreciated this worksheet Kyler did at school.  It asked in the first 3 problems which picture showed how you can earn money (sweeping, doing dishes, vacuuming) rather than just being given the money, and in the bottom questions it asked which picture is something you need versus something you want (a sandwich vs a toy car and a yoyo vs a pear).  I didn't know they taught such things at school, but it made me happy!
This little girl has been sporting some pig tails lately!  I am severely hair challenged so this might be as good as it gets for a while, but look at that face!!  Just too cute!

Mother's Day Cards

We made some Mother's days presents this year, and the boys wrote some letters.  Here are some of the letters.  They all made me smile!  In the card I got, Kyler wrote, "I love the lunches you make, my favorite lunch."  I guess he does notice me making him a lunch everyday!
"deer Nanny, you let me go to mictonals" Interpretation: Dear Nanny, You let me go to McDonalds
"deer grama, i love you because you are nice to me" Interpretation: Dear Grandma, I love you because you are nice to me
"deer Oma, you let me play vedeo gams"
Interpretation: Dear Oma, you let me play video games
"NANNY LOBE DAMON"
Interpretation: Nanny, love Damon
"deer Nana I love you because you let me water the flowers"
"deer Nanny I love you Nanny because you give me a roll before lunch or dinner"
Interpretation: Nanny gives Kyler a hot roll before we eat together on Sundays.  I guess he likes that!

Just an ordinary day at the Keys house. Wild and crazy kids!!

Growing Growing

It's hard to believe how grown up our baby girl looks! She is sitting really well on her own. Occasionally, she'll still fall forward or back, but she sits really well. None of the boys have sat up this early which makes me nervous! And to top it off, Kenney laid her on her tummy the other day and she started digging into the carpet with her toes and moved forward about 3-4 feet!! NO NO NO!! She's not even 6 months old yet! I want her to stay stationary a little longer because I'm afraid she won't be as sunggly if she starts moving on her own!
Cute faced squishy little girl!
She is just too cute!!
Look at that chin!!  There is almost some chub on her, almost!
She is just getting so big!  No more little baby.
I love how she looks at her brothers, and don't get me started on Damon's smirk!!
Her hair is a mess, but look at her just sit there!
Love her little grin!
It's still hard to believe we have a girl!
So there is an ice cream truck in Wellington.  A sketchy, ghetto, scary looking ice cream truck that lives about 3 houses down the street.  We hear the truck pretty much every day between 5 and 6:30 pm (horrible time right before and during dinner).  The boys have begged for ice cream ever since we moved here.  I finally agreed, and they even used their own money to buy the neighbors an ice cream too!  It was a happy day in our house!

A Garden & Friends

Kenney has been itching to do a garden ever since we tried, somewhat successfully, during the worst drought in Texas. He got some pallet wood and made raised garden beds and everything! Kenney has already had to cover and protect the plants from hail and wind. Of course the one time he didn't protect his plants with buckets, milk jugs or other pieces of pallet wood, we had a flash flood come through and wipe out a few plants!! Hopefully since we have a compost pile going and have been getting a decent amount of rain, we will have a more plentiful harvest this year!

Some of our best friends in Lubbock have now finished law school and will be heading back to Arizona to work.  We are really sad they will be even further away, but they were able to come visit one last time before they leave.  The boys were excited to have friends sleep over and  play with for the weekend.  I enjoyed having some friends around too!  We were really happy to have some time with them before they leave.

My herbs and a few succulents.  We'll see if I can keep them alive.  I'm not very good at this.  I planted them a week ago and 3 of the 4 herbs are still alive.  However, in my defense, the parsley was already looking bad when I potted it!
Kenney's raised garden beds.
Some bell peppers popping up.  This was taken about a week ago, and they are much bigger now.
Beans starting to grow.
I tried to get at least six of the kids together to take a picture, but the two year olds were not cooperative!
This is Radley while I was trying to get them together.
There's Connor in the background trying to get out the door!
Everyone eating cereal.  I just noticed how bad the kitchen walls look!  Between the scribbled chalkboard, the calendar, wallpaper, paint colors, and stripped off wallpaper, I can't even focus on the kids!!
Matching jammies!!  Connor got his on after his bath, and Damon noticed.  So he went and found his jammies that were the same!
The boys!
Damon and Emily!  Emily has had her heart set on marrying Kyler for about 3 years now.  She has it all planned out with their kids names and everything!!  She is even going to wait on him to go on a mission before they get married!!  (This girl is intense, haha!!)  However, Damon has been growing on her!
Poor Nanny has been in the hospital lately, and has been in a lot of pain.  On Sunday Bentley was so sweet and just cuddled with her.  I think it made Nanny feel good!  My boys never would have done this!

Flying a Plane & Getting Big

The weather has been so nice lately (except for a few extremely windy days), so we've been spending more time outside. We got a fun big airplane from Oma & Papa Dude a while ago but finally took it out for some good flying recently. The boys had a lot of fun, and Kyler had a few really good throws, letting the plane glide really well.

Bentley is getting much more active and involved with things around her. She talks a lot and wants to eat everything I put to my mouth. We started some rice cereal this week which she loves! I still can't get over how much the boys love to watch her do new things and cheer for her!

Piecing the plane back together after one of several crashes!
Daddy helping Radley
Radley's got this!
Damon trying to get the hang of it.
Daddy showing them how it's done with just the right touch to make it glide!
Happy Birthday to this amazing guy!  We couldn't love you more, and you couldn't be more deserving.
Bentley is really starting to move a lot!  She loves to grab her toes and has been caught putting them in her  mouth!
The boys get so excited for her when she rolls over, and she's so close to rolling from her back to her tummy.
She has the deepest blue eyes.  They are so pretty.
This girl has quite the shoe collection, and I'm pretty envious!  She even has UGGs (pictured above) from one of her Aunts!  Lets hope her trend of losing shoes ends soon!!

Kenney put this video on Facebook a few weeks ago, but I wanted to put it on our blog. I love listening to him read this book, especially when he says, "Purple cat, purple cat." He is so adorable!

Easter Morning

This Easter season we made a more conscious effort to remember the reason we celebrate Easter. We tried to get the boys to look past the eggs, candy, and Easter Bunny to really understand what Easter is all about. We did an egg hunt for Family Home Evening that had different things relating to Christ's death and resurrection. We watched a few Easter videos and had many other great intentions. However, I wasn't quite as organized as I hoped I'd be. I have some plans for next year and hope to be a little more on top of things so that we might do something every day leading up to Easter Sunday. If nothing else, when you ask the boys why we have Easter, they at least know that it is about Jesus dying and being alive again. They at least know what resurrection means!

The boys and their cute Easter ties!
Bentley doesn't exactly look happy (it was a little chilly outside), but I love these 4 crazy kiddos with all my heart.
The aftermath of Easter baskets!
Showing off their favorite thing from their baskets.
Bentley's first Easter!  This wasn't the dress I intended for her to wear, but it was in the 40's that morning and was rather cold outside, so her 'Easter' dress will have to wait.  However, my friend knitted this dress for her.  I love the color and she is just too cute, even though the wind was blowing in her face!
