Baseball Allstars

When we got the call that Kyler made Allstars, he started crying. He didn't want to keep playing. He lost all of his confidence in his hitting ability and didn't think he could do it. We let him think about it for a while, and eventually he decided he wanted to play. So many of his friends were on the team it really helped. There were a few practices and he was hoping those would be over quick. He hated practices, haha! The Allstar tournament started in Borger which is almost 2 hours away. The first game he went with a friend. The game was cancelled halfway through because of a tornado. It was pretty crazy rushing the kids off the field and rushing home to beat the storm. Thankfully everyone was ok and they rescheduled the game for the next day in Childress.

I took the kids and met some other family members to watch him play. It was actually a really fun game to watch and seemed more like 'real' baseball than the rest of the season did. The next night we drove the whole family to Borger to watch the game. It was the longest game ever!!! It took over 3 hours because we couldn't close out the 3rd inning. The final score was 31-11!! Crazy! We didnt' get home until after 12am. The next night we send Kyler with friends again. The team won for the 3rd strait game! They were headed to the championship!! Unfortunately, we left for the beach and Kyler woulnd't be able to play. The team somehow ended up losing 2 games in a row to lose the championship. They said they really missed Kyler and needed him there.  Hopefully next year he forgets about his hitting troubles and remembers that he can hit the ball!!

I never got a picture of his original team, but this is the Allstar team.  A lot of his good friends were on the team which made it a lot more fun for him.
Hanging out in the dugout and cheering on their team.
Ready to run home!

Love that boy!
Getting some advice from his coach while on first base.
Kyler also was able to go to a Minor League SodPoodles game with a friend.  He had a blast!!  It helped that his friend's mom spoiled him like crazy.  She bought Kyler a team shirt, all of their cards, food galore, and a bat and ball for all of the other kids at home!!  No wonder he's always begging to go with friends.
