Beginning of Summer Adventure (Colorado)

We had a rough start to leaving on our trip.  The last day of volleyball camp and the day before we were leaving, you know the day we were packing everything up, my mom called to tell me the girls had lice!  No way, not again right before we leave for a trip!!  We had a massive downpour of rain (5+ inches in one day) causing a leak in our HVAC closet because of a poorly place pipe in the roof.  And Kenney had a really hard time even driving home because the roads were so flooded.  It was crazy. We finally got everything in order smoothed out for us to leave the next morning.

We drove to Savanna and Kevin's house in Cortez, CO to spend some time with them and explore the area around their house.  It was beautiful there, and the weather was dreamy!  We went to Mesa Verde National Park and enjoyed hanging out at the house with their family.  Savanna spoiled all of us with treats, homemade pizzas from the pizza oven, s'mores, yummy waffles, snacks, and more!

The PT facility also had some water leaks.
Can you believe that is all we packed in the back of the van for 7 people for 9 days??  That's so pretty good packing!!

The saying, "When it rains it pours" never made sense than it did then.

The slip-n-slide was a hit! Landry's new birthday present and tumbling mat was so fun!
Typical Damon, haha!

The pizza oven was awesome and we all got personal pizzas!!

These girls had so much fun together!  It was perfect for them.

Savanna brought out all the things for the kids.  She had the slip-n-slide, water balloons, a trampoline, golf for the boys, a fire pit, and more.  The kids were loving it!

It was pretty fun watching them slide around!

They were getting the hang of it here.

Then they got some confidence and added some soap.  They were having a great time, and I loved watching them!

Mesa Verde

While we were so close and had a free pass to get into National Parks, we decided to check out Mesa Verde.  The cliff dwellings were pretty cool, but I was more impressed with God's creation and beautiful world around us.  We also found some areas where the kids climbed around and played hide-n-seek.

We didn't make reservations to get any closer to the cave dwellings, but we could still see them pretty well.

These dwellings weren't in the cliffside, but we could walk around them!

I bet the kids that lived here 100s of years ago played hide-n-seek too!

Radley found a really cool hiding spot!
