8th Grade Graduation & Academic Awards

The end of school has so many activities and awards.  All of the kids did amazing!  They all had A honor roll for the entire school year, all got perfect attendance, and earned citizenship awards.  Kenney and I have been blessed with very good kids.  We try hard as parents, but they came to us as very good souls.  It is nice when other people recognize those qualities too!

Mackenzie received the Extra Mile award for always going the extra mile, perfect attendance, and the American Citizenship award.  She LOVED Pre-K and her friends and teacher.  We couldn't be happier with how this year has turned out for her!

This is her afternoon class (one kid was absent)

Getting ready to sing to the parents!

Blake and Mackenzie received the Citizenship Award.

Perfect attendance

Mrs. Wischkaemper (one of Mackenzie's favorite people ever!)

So happy for her!

Showing Oma her awards!

She will still sing along to this song every time she hears it.  I had no idea they were learning it, but she knows all the words!

Racking in ALL the awards for 5th grade! He got A honor roll, perfect attendance, the DAR award for citizenship, the accelerated reading award for getting more than 100 points, and the Presidental Academic award.

Kenney always makes such an effort to make it to all these events.

Such a good kid that pushes himself (sometimes a little too hard).

3 of his 5th grade teachers: Mrs. Morris, Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Bohannon & Mrs. Thronberry (not pictured).  He had a great group pushing him and guiding him.  He did amazing this year!  All of his teachers loved him and had great things to say about him!

Radley and Quinn Roberson, the other student that received the DAR award.

Love this sweet and smart (still trying to convince her of that) girl!  She also received A honor roll, perfect attendance, and the American Citizenship award.

Bentley and Rafe

Love her so much!!

Bentley really shined in 2nd grade with Mrs. Lampe, and Mrs. Lampe really enjoyed having Bentley in class.

Mrs. George LOVED Bentley!  I really hope she sticks around a few more years until Mackenzie gets through 2nd grade!!

So proud of this kid!  He did such a good job this year.  He stayed on top of his work and was able to do really well even with all of the activities he has going on.  He pushed himself and kept really good grades all year.  Damon received A honor roll, academic excellence in history, perfect attendance, and was #3 overall in his class.

These boys did AWESOME!!
This kid did great too!  Kyler very rarely ever brings work home.  He manages his time really well at school and uses every minute to get anything done he can while he's there.  Everyone is always asking him for help, and he's always willing.  He finished as the Salutatorian for the 8th grade class, a honor roll, perfect attendance, academic excellence in reading, outstanding student in another class too (I forgot which one), and the DAR award.

That's a lot of awards, even if we have 5 kids!!

8th Grade Graduation

We had never attended an 8th grade graduation in Wellington, so we didn't know what to expect.  However, we were shocked when it only lasted 17 minutes!! Wow!  There was an opening prayer, 2 short speeches, each graduate was called, and then it was over.  Very efficient!

So proud to call this kid ours!  He is amazing in so many ways.  I'm really glad I got this picture because he had already turned his gown in by the time we got out of the building!!

He really didn't like sitting on the front row!

I love how he loves her and she adores him!  He realized this year that he will miss a lot of her growing up when he made the connection that she will be in 3rd grade when he graduates high school.  I hope they can get some time in together before then!

Logan, Jaxon, Kyler, and Leo
He did not have any patience for pictures so a friend had to send this one, and he didn't get any other pictures.

#1 & #2 in the class
He's one loved kid!!

Kyler did a great job writing and giving his speech. He really didn't want to give it, but he did so well.

With only 40 something kids in their class, no wonder this didn't take long.  There was nothing flashy or fun.  It was straight business!
