75 to Below Zero!!

Oh how I love global warming!!! We can sure feel the heat now! So our beautiful, short-lived weekend is over, and now we feel like we are in Idaho again!! Don't get me wrong I loved Idaho, just hated the winters. And now it seems they followed us. It has been freezing. Monday night, like over half the country, we had a huge winter storm hit. We have had below zero windchills and single digit temperatures for a high. We also had thunder and lightning during the storm. That never happened in Idaho. Who has thunder during a snowstorm? Only in Texas I guess.

Most of our pipes have frozen. We are down to half a sink (only the hot water works in one of our bathroom sinks). I have no water in my laundry room and my dishes are piling up. Luckily, the shower and toilet still work!! We also never lost power which is a blessing. Kyler has stayed in his pajamas for the last two days trying to stay warm, and we have a space heater blowing at all times. I have also been in sweats all day! Poor Kenney has had to get out in this weather and go to work. We are hoping by this weekend we will have running water throughout the whole house! Hope everyone else is staying warm.

We should have taken pictures on Tuesday before all the snow
blew away with our 20mph winds!!

75 Degrees in January

Yes, you read that correctly. It was a beautiful day on Saturday. We got out of the house, had lunch at the park and then played on the playground. Kyler did not know what to make of the park at first. I think he was overwhelmed and was over stimulated! He rode a swing and some slides. He had a great time playing with cousins and his daddy. The best part for him was being able to play in the dirt and get messy, and yes, I let him get dirty!

Climbing Around

He was not sure what to think about a lot of the moving playground equipment

Getting ready to slide down

He likes to walk everywhere now

Just too cute!

Why is he wearing white? Yeah I asked myself the same question about this time! Dirt everywhere and I'm sure this is just the beginning.

This is how he arrived home! No clothes and perfectly content.

I still don't know if he enjoyed the ride or not

Playtime!!

Kyler loves to play with his dad. Let's face it moms are not nearly as fun as dads, especially to little boys. He loves it when Kenney gets home from work. Dad pushes him faster on the cars, builds cooler things for him to knock down, lets him get dirty, etc. I've also decided that I can just buy toys for both Kyler and Kenney for Christmas and birthdays. I got Kenney this remote controlled bug after Christmas and they both love it. Kyler was really scared of it at first and kicked it across the room when it got too close, but now he loves it. I even get it down and play with him when he starts to get fussy because it distracts him so well!

Mostly, Kyler loves his daddy, and dad will always be cooler than mom. I usually get him when he's crying, go figure!!

He is boy through and through, not only does he like to go fast, but it's way more fun when you run into things and crash!

This is the bug I was talking about

Kyler must get bored shopping too. This is what happened when I left them unattended. I know the video is not very clear, it's from Kenney's phone, and yes he is licking the mirror!

Christmas Time

I know December and 2010 are over, but I am still going to put up Christmas video and pictures. We had Christmas in our own home for the first time!! It was kinda weird, but we loved it. Kyler just enjoyed all the entertainment!! He loves new things and being in places with a lot of people to watch. We decorated the inside and outside of our house, and yes, that is Santa on our roof. He came in the garage when we bought the house. Luckily, Kenney said that he will stay with the house!

We started our festivities on Christmas Eve and Nanny and Papa's house (Kenney's grandparents). All of the family that was in town came over to celebrate with food, Santa, and presents. It was a lot of fun to see everyone, 7 of the 8 babies born this year, and people that don't live close. Santa was a pretty big hit as usual. Kyler did not seem to mind him one bit. He just stared at him and seemed to think something was wrong with him!! He was the only baby that did not cry, as if I needed more evidence that my child was not normal!!

After Nanny and Papa's, we went to Nana and Papa's (Kenney's parents) house. We acted out the Nativity with costumes and everything. I was Mary and Kyler was Baby Jesus. He was not the best newborn wrapped in swaddling clothes, but it worked! We then got to open more presents. Tamra, Kenney's sister, also announced that she is going to have a baby!

Kyler still not very successful at opening presents

Christmas morning was at our house and just the 3 of us! It was quiet, but very nice. Kyler had to be woken up at 9am. He did have a long night on Christmas Eve. He never really quiet got the hang of opening presents. I think Nana and Papa had more for him to open anyways! He is still not quiet sure of the tent that he got, but he loves the cars that he can play with and ride. Kenney did really well this Christmas for me. He got me a new robe and slippers, a heater for the bathroom that I use everyday, plus some other stuff. We had a great Christmas and are very excited for the new adventures that 2011 has in store for us!!

Working Out

Kyler and I decided we need to start getting into shape!! Ok, so Kyler didn't really decide that but he has been working out a lot lately. He has been doing sit-ups, no more messing around with crunches, and pull-ups. He likes to show off his amazing abs!! I, on the other hand, have been positively influenced by some friends at church to start working out as well. I am still doing crunches and have not quite made to pull-ups yet, but I just started this week. To be honest, I have not really worked out and gotten into shape since I played volleyball, so I have a LONG way to go. Kyler is good motivation; he likes to play with the other kids while we get into shape!!

Kyler has progressed to full on sit-ups. He does this all the time while I am trying to change his diaper. He's all about making things easier for me!!

On Sunday at Kenney's Grandparent's house, Kyler reached the top of the table and tried to pull himself up. Kenney is only making sure he doesn't fall, he's not holding him up. All I can say is, "Like father, like son." Kenney is amazing at pull-ups too!

These are some more picture from Thanksgiving. About 80% of the pictures, Kyler had his mouth wide open!! Silly boy!
