Bentley Turns 3

Bentley has been impatiently waiting for her birthday. She has been so excited to turn 3 and have a party. I think all her dreams came true. She loved all the phone calls she received and the extra attention. She learned how to hold up 3 fingers to tell everyone how old she is now. She was also in denial that my birthday would be 2 days later. She refused to acknowledge that I had a birthday too. However, when I was making her cake she said I could have one of the layers, and then she said she could help me blow out my candles!

A big purple bag just for her!!
She was so excited cousins came to celebrate.
She wanted a princess cake for months.  It's been a topic of conversation since Damon's birthday.  I'm not sure who put the Frozen idea into her head, but that's what she got!
Lots of people there to celebrate (even Georgie came)!!
She got a little nervous during the loud singing and the Cha-cha-chas.
No help needed with her candles.
Or the presents!!
Lip Stick!!!!  And not just any lip stick, but Frozen lip stick!  She was super excited.  She had the best reaction when she opened Shandi's present.  She gasped and everything.  It was the best, but we didn't get a picture or video of it unfortunately.  This is a poor substitute, but she definitely showed her appreciation in her reactions.

The cake looked great until I put in the ice pieces.  It was my first time making hard candy, and I made it too thick.  It ended up being too heavy for the cake to hold up and it started to fall apart.  I had to keep my hand on the back during the singing, but Bentley didn't seem to mind.  She was still happy with it.

So happy her day was finally here and she got cake and presents!!!
Kyler being super sweet and playing with her and all the new toys she had just gotten.

The birthday singing gets a little loud when the cousins show up, but they are very enthusiastic about it!!

I knew the instant I saw the Frozen lip stick it would be a hit!

This is her earlier in the day talking about presents and birthdays.

SNOW!!!

I still can't believe that we got snow so early, and it actually stuck!! I didn't think we would get enough for the kids to play in, but there was a few inches. The kids were so excited in the morning when they got up. They were pretty bummed they had to go to school and wouldn't be able to play in it. Bentley went out first thing and then several other times throughout the day. Kyler only got to go out for about 20 mins by the time he got home from basketball practice. I didn't get any pictures of him because I was making dinner.

She loved just falling into the snow.
Snow and green grass.  I guess that what's happens when it snows before Thanksgiving.
"Mom take this thing off!"
She would run a few feet and then just fall face first into the snow.
Everything looks so pretty just dusted in snow.

The chickens had never seen or felt snow before now.
The weren't quite so sure about it at first, but eventually started walking around.
I thought the snow was so pretty on the neighbor's fence.
Bentley was standing under the edge of the roof trying to catch the water dripping off.  Gross!!!
As soon as they got home from school, they got snow clothes on and went to play.

Crazy girl!
Snowball fight!!
Bentley trying to get Damon.

These two ate as much snow as they threw.

Bentley dressed and ready to go play in the snow while the boys had to go to school.

I got a video of all the kids playing, but my phone messed up right at the end and didn't save the video. So all I have is this video of Bentley. I was impressed with how long she would go out and play by herself. She loved the snow.

Bentley Singing and Dancing

Bentley is just too much on a daily basis, but when she starts singing and dancing it's just over the top. Here are a few videos of her dancing to songs from The Greatest Showman in the car while we were waiting on the boys to get out of school.  She also picked out her own clothes and insists on wearing lipstick all the time.  I usually only let her put it on as we are leaving the house or I would have no lipstick left.  She needs some lipstick for her birthday!

I tried to be as discrete as possible at first. I don't think she realized I was filming for a while. I love her singing and just the little things she does with her hands as she moves and dances.

A little more dancing and singing magic!!

She could go all day long!!!!

Lunch with the Boys & School Pics

Every year around Thanksgiving, there is a big Thanksgiving lunch at the school. Parents and grandparents come to have a turkey dinner with the kids during lunchtime. Of course our boys never eat the turkey dinner, but Bentley and I went to eat lunch with them. Bentley ended up having lunch 3 times because none of their lunches overlapped, meaning we were in the cafeteria for a long time!!

Lunch with Radley
Time with Damon
Gotta love Kyler's 'smile' Haha
You never know what you're going to get with school pictures.  Kyler has the most authentic smiles I've seen from him in a while.  Damon's is much improved from a few years ago, haha.  Radley's is just adorable!!

Radley's Box Car

3 kindergartners and 3 box cars later we have finished transportation day again. Kenney and I (Kenney esp.) really don't like this project because it's so hard to involve the child that this is just a parent project. I mean, what kid is allowed to cut cardboard with a razor?? Some families go all out and spend so much time, effort, and money and these things that we want to at least make it look decent for our kids.

Radley decided he wanted a firetruck box car.  Thank goodness he didn't want a motorcycle like Damon!!  We tried to let him do as much as possible so he painted some, helped to attach the wheels, and helped with the design.  Overall, it was a success!  I didn't get great pictures, but it's good enough.
The parade at school.

Walking into the pep rally

I still haven't figured out why anyone would want 40+ kids in box cars at a pep rally, but we can't disrupt tradition!!
Waiting at the school for all the kids to show up.  Because it was Friday and there was a pep rally Bentley is of course in her cheer uniform!!
