Kenney got the call Saturday evening that the bees were ready and needed to be pick up by Wednesday. The only day he could go was Sunday, so after sacrament meeting he took off to pick them up. Everything went really well. The only time he got stung was right as he was getting in the car to head back from some other random bee. Now we just wait and see how things go! Fingers crossed!!
Moving the bees for the first time!!!
This is where Kenney picked up the bees. The guy has over 100 hives just out in an open field with nothing around. Crazy!
He put the hive near the canyon behind his parents house. We can't keep the bees at our house because they spray for in city limits mosquitoes which can kill bees.
Mackenzie trying to figure out who that guy in the white suit is.
The set up for now, until the hive grows, and yes it's strapped down because the wind can get really bad out here.
The bees making themselves comfortable going in and out of the front.
One week in the hive and the bees are busy
Lots and lots of bees!
Here is our beekeeper putting the bees into our hive for the first time. Everything when super smooth and they are thriving now!
