End of Semester Stuff at School

Every December it seems like there is something going on every day, well except for last year. Thankfully, we live in a place that ignores most COVID stuff, so many of our activities were like normal again. The kids had Christmas parties as did the hospital and church. There seemed to be something always going on, but we still tried to make time to focus on Christ, not as good as we should have, but we tried. We'll do better next year.
Bentley in her class on Ugly Sweater Day
Everyone ready for Ugly Sweater Day.  Mackenzie even joined in on the fun!
Yep it has been warm enough for shorts!!  I want some winter weather to make it feel more like Christmas around here!
Mackenzie cannot be left out and her siblings never let it happen.
Radley with two of his really good friends Ben and Ryker.
Damon taking selfies.
Damon with all of the UIL participants. He's standing on the far left.
On the last day of the semester, PTO did reading parties for the kids and gave them hot chocolate and candy canes.  We also did a hot chocolate bar for the teachers.  It turned out pretty good!
Kyler got 1st place in dictionary skills for UIL.  He got 1st last year too and hadn't picked up a dictionary since that day, but I guess he remembered enough to win again!!  He didn't even know if the school had a dictionary for him to use.
He was bummed about his math score, but still placed 4th.
Kyler was on the Ready Writing team also.
This is how I found Bentley at her school party.  She loved her glasses and wore them very frequently leading up to Christmas.
We found Santa in the hall on the way to find the boys!
She didn't take off those glasses for a while. The girl loves an accessory!

Bentley's class singing at the Christmas sing (she's on the far left of the top row).

Radley's classing singing Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree (he's on the far left of the bottom row).

Damon's last Christmas Sing (he's on the left of the 2nd row).  He was telling us how bad the 5th grade sounded, but it wasn't too bad!

Kyler had his very first band concert playing the trombone.  You can't see him in the back or really hear him specifically, but he played!!

Damon competed in UIL dictionary skills and got 4th place!!

Kyler getting his medal for 1st place in UIL Chess!!
